MIL vent. Up until a month ago we had a great relationship. Long story short (kinda). It started when they wouldn't bring my daughter to the hospital to meet her sister. That's all my daughter wanted. So my parents had to go get her bring her to the hospital and then back to the in-laws. I asked about them having the TDAP shot. They didn't have it and refused to get it or the flu shot. So I tell them that's a deal breaker for me. So she says we're done and wants to cut ties. I was very upset at first but I got over it. I haven't talked to her since and that's been a little over 2 weeks. My daughter is 3 weeks and 2 days. So my mil calls my husband and he has it on speakerphone. MIL is talking to my daughter cus she comes running to the phone when she hears grandma's voice. The whole time she never asks about the new baby. Like really you don't even care about her? I was going to let them see the baby once the flu season was over. Now I'm not so sure. I don't feel bad for my youngest daughter cus she can't miss out on a relationship she never had.
@kelley.blue luckily he's over it too and is on my side.
@nvonehrenkrook , I agree! And eventually he's going to feel some type of way towards his mother for being such a b!+ch toward his family. Mil better tighten up!
@kelley.blue Thank you. All of my family asked what I wanted no questions asked. My grandma was afraid to come over cus she didn't have the flu shot and told me she would wear a mask. I'm not so worried about the flu shot as I am with the TDAP. We already have confirmed cases of whopping cough where I live. MIL was more concerned about my youngest "getting autism from a vaccine" than possibly giving her a deadly illness. I could go on and on. I think it's a blessing really to be done. My husband go see his parents but I'm done.
It's really pathetic they wouldn't get the tdap for their grandbaby. My mom did that with no questions asked. Flu shot... Kind of a different story bc so many ppl don't trust them but for them to act like she doesn't exist is bs. They probably wouldn't get to talk to the oldest and we completely cut ties bc I don't play favorites! Sorry you are going through that but you're the mommy and they'll play by your rules or not play at all!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I can see both sides of it. There’s a lot of people that don’t believe in vaccines, it seems ur in laws are of that group, but it’s your baby and you have to do what you think is best. But I wouldn’t be upset with them and I would hope in the future they would be able to have a relationship with the child.
