Anyone have any ideas on how to make a newborn sleep through the night?

There are none. They aren't supposed to sleep through the night. My first didn't until 1 yr and a half. Welcome to mom life. Lol

@beyond_beautifulx3 I went through the pain... ugh!! It was the worst. I hope with this second baby I dont go through it again. Dont be afraid to supplement with formula or give your baby strictly formula. My first baby got yellow (jaundice?) because he wasnt getting enough breast milk.

@beyond_beautifulx3 I didnt know to do that so I give new moms advice. I was so oblivious as a new parent.

@teighlor_dantzler, yeah I’m looking at calling la leche but when he nurses most of it is in his mouth so idk

@beyond_beautifulx3 girl I know it's hard. I nursed till she was 4 months and it was the hardest thing I've ever done. I was so sleep deprived. It may be his latch. Most of your areola should be in his mouth. If not you may have to rewatch him because it shouldnt be uncomfortable. You shouldn't feel anything when nursing. I know at the hospital I went to that had classes every Wednesday if you had concerns and there was always a lactation consultant if I had any questions.

@teighlor_dantzler, rn my boobs are killing me to the point when I take a shower the water on them hurts so bad I’ll pump and it hurts and when he sucks it hurts even worse. Idk if I should call the dr about it but all I know is I’m in a ton of pain

I think around 4 months mine started sleeping through the night. But even at 9 months she wakes up for her pacifier every once in a while

The first few weeks is rough because they need to get woken up for feedings.

Mine slept through the night at 8 weeks. Her pediatrician said she will wake up if she was hungry. So i did not have to worry about it plus she was gaining weight nicely too. Some nights she cry for milk, and her schedule would change during sleep regressions but she would go back to sleeping through the night afterwards. She still sleeps through the night now.

I'm sorry momma's but that baby needs to be eating every 2-3 hours impossible for newborn to sleep through the nights hang in there mommas eventually later on the road you'll get sleep your body is going to adjust with just little sleep for now 💖

Get lucky when they sleep a good 6 hours a night.. my 9 month old doesn’t go to bed sometimes until 1-3Am and still wakes up at 6

A newborn shouldn’t be sleeping through the night. My 11 month old still wakes up! You can try swaddling or white noise to see if you can get longer stretches but that won’t change the fact that they need to be nourished throughout the night at such a young age.

Sorry but you'll never know what real sleep is again until he goes to school and even then you still have to get up early to make sure to catch the bus, but maybe you'll get a nap once they leave for school. I literally stay up at night with my almost 3m old until about 1am at least to give him his last bottle for the night, lucky for me he's been sleeping through the night after like 1am so I get at least 5hrs of sleep but that's not the norm at all and it's uncommon lol. I'm sorry lol but you'll just have to get used to it. My 2yr old didn't start sleeping through the night until he was almost 1.

Haha I wish. Mine didnt :( hang in there. My son is 15mo and still doesnt sleep through sometimes. It took until recently (11mo?) for him to sleep through the night most nights

99% of Newborns don’t sleep through the night so there’s no way to make them. They need to be waking to eat.

It’s not gonna happen lol. I know it’s rough, but just keep pushing through.
