@lauren_h you're doing great to have made it to a week! Trust me the first few months are the hardest. It gets so much easier. Just take it a day at a time xx

You cannot over feed a breastfed baby. Many babies will feed for hours at a time for the first few weeks. Just feed on demand, leave her on the breast until she comes off herself. It's very normal for them to come off, act like they are done and then want more almost straight away. You have to remember their tummies are tiny and breast milk is digested much faster than formula, that is why breastfed babies need feeding so much more often! If baby is managing to go 2-3 hours without a feed at 1 week old she is getting enough.
Just go with it, Theo is one and still feeding, sometimes he feeds for 30 minutes every 2-3 hours still... but I remember those early days, not knowing if you're producing enough and if baby is getting enough. Trust your body and let baby feed as often and for as long as they want.
Get yourself a snack box, make sure you've always got plenty of water and find yourself a good series on Netflix! You've got this! Good luck x

and don’t worry that she’s not feeding enough she will feed when she wants! and if you do worry that the last one wasn’t long enough (which I do a lot) try to tease her with the smell and she is likely to feed xx

Breastfeeding is quite arduous at the beginning. For the first few months it's all on demand. Baby's stomachs can only take so much liquid and then also breastmilk because its full of everything they need, is digested very very quickly. So for minimum a month expect to feed every 2-3 hours and some sessions can go for as long as 45 mins. As she grows they get much more effecient and usually in 10 mins can drain you. Within the first 3 months as well expect maybe days where she seems to feed all day, those are growth spurts and very common, also some children, both of mine did, cluster feed at night. So from 8pm till 12pm they would feed non stop, sleep like 10 to 30 mins in between and wake up and need food, rocking, bouncing, nothing would work, they'd need to feed and for both my kids the cluster feed period lasted like maximum a month. Although bfeeding is really difficult at the beginning, 4/5 months in it becomes a dream. Second nature to just whack it out and feed for 10 mins and also offer comfort at any point with sterilising or heating and cooling. I have nothing against formula, I combination feed my 2nd but just trying to let you know that the reality is that it starts off hard but becomes so so easy that even as a mum you find it hard to quit breastfeeding because it's such easy access to comfort for your child.

I am!! Feed until she’s finished hun, if she falls asleep but doesn’t detach herself then leave her as she is still feeding while sleeping, and if she wants it again feed her! At the moment I’m writing down whenever I feed her and I’ll make sure I feed her 3 hours after, she doesn’t normally wait 3 hours though so if she feeds now (4:30) I’ll plan to feed her again at 7:30 but if she feeds at say 5:30 I’ll plan to feed her at 8:30, just go with what she wants but make sure you don’t go longer than 3 hours at a time, and well done I’m on day 4 and was really struggling you should be proud of yourself! Xxxx
