@penelope127, very true. And that’s what I told. That I couldn’t continue a relationship w someone who didn’t have or want one w my son. He said he just wasn’t mentally prepared for it rn

I think a lot of people get this idea about parenthood or step parenthood that is seen through rose colored glasses. It’s not all taking kids to the park and cuddles and ice cream. It’s sleepless nights, tantrums, snot and germs everywhere, it’s messy and stressful even on its best days. He may have gotten a reality check 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m glad he told you now instead of further on when he truly formed a bond with your son and was more involved.

Well, neither of you are wrong. But a month isn't very long. There should be no real parental responsibility or concerns for him... not his place. And if after some time he doesn't take on those duties by choice then he's not a good fit

@kambam, we talked prior to making it official. But I never brought up about him taking on responsibility Bc I agree it’s not his place and I’ve told him that before.
