Breastfeeding mamas I have a question for you!!
Did you experience engorgement when your milk came in? If so how long did it last?
My milk came in Sunday and I have been so badly engorged I’m having to pump/feed every hour...
I’ve tried warm/cold compresses with no luck... I really want to give breast milk as long as possible and with this pain I don’t know how long I will last.
Any advice you have will help! Thanks 💜
@mississippi.queen, definitely engorged.. no signs of mastitis
Try getting your breasts warm with a hot towel and massaging them downwards into a bowl to catch milk. Massage with some pressure to relieve the engorgement. Use ice only after expressing milk and no longer than 10mins.
Hot=flow
Cold=suppress
Engorgement is normal and you shouldn’t be pumping because you are telling your body to make more milk. Your supply needs to regulate to your baby’s needs. Just hand express for comfort and feed your baby often. You will experience some pain which could last for weeks but that’s normal too. It’s gets better the longer you do it, you just have to push through the pain. The first month or so was rough for me but it gradually got better to the point I barely remember those hard times. Keep it up, you’re doing great!
The pain will be here regardless. It takes time for your body to recognize how much milk to produce. Also if you intend to feed, avoid cold compresses. They will cause your supply to drop.
At that age, it's common to feed that often. Ate you engorged or do you think maybe you have mastitis??
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
I pump if I get uncomfortable. My little is 5 months and some mornings I still have to pump after feeding him. Sounds like a good problem to have! Lol
