@alice-quinnsmommy, That is horrible advice, and you shouldn’t give out medical advice quite like that if your not knowledgeable hun. Burn blisters form to protect the underlying skin to prevent infection. You don’t damage those blisters intentionally. @sandryane0317, Yes love aloe is a great idea! Avoid him soaking the hand in the tub, as well.

@alice-quinnsmommy, Any doctor who suggests popping burn blisters should go back to school 🙄 Those blisters form for a reason to protect the underlying exposed skin from infection. I’m a nurse and was required to do burn training, and nowhere do they suggest people rupturing those fluid filled sacks. Just because you do it does not make it something you should suggest to others. Especially with pins 🤦‍♀️ I’m sorry but that’s just not what you do or what anyone should do. Burns are incredibly susceptible to infection.

Even though I guess it looks so painful to us he is doing perfectly fine and it takes 2 weeks to heal about roughly. Nothing we can do for blisters unless they pop and are infected just keeping it clean with soap and water. Thank you ladies

@sandryane0317, so how does your drs office work when you can just go right in to be seen? What happens to the people with appointments?

Same thing happend to my dd 2 years ago. I ran to Walmart and bought some burn gel for pain. And the next day the blister pop on it's on and then put vitamin E oil. But I put the gel and oil on nap time and at nite cuz she wouldn't let me put anything on it.

@sandryane0317, So good the doctor laid eyes on him ❤️ Did they advise on how to cover them? Poor little guy I got my ear with the curling iron not long ago and boy that sucked.

I was never planning on popping any blisters no matter what anyone says especially if I don't even listen to my husband LOL I remember when I popped my own they burn like hell so I would not put my child through that

@alice-quinnsmommy, your suggesting this to a 1 1/2 year old. It’s going to be hard enough treating these blisters, and your suggesting popping the blisters that add an extra cushion to keep from getting infected?

@beakymcspence sterilized and that's what the bandaging protects from, it's a tiny hole, I've never had any issues with it, no one I know has. I was just stating.

@beakymcspence I w asnt giving advice, I said what I do. That's what my childhood, now the pediatrician of all my little siblings has said to do. It's better than them accidentally popping them on their own and the bandaging keeps them from tearing the skin.

@sandryane0317, do you have mittens or small Cotton gloves? I’m trying to remember what they gave us for our son when nana wasn’t watching and he touched the stove 😡 you can use an arnica cream which you can get OTC.

I don’t think anyone is coming off aggressive, I think they’re just simply giving you advice, exactly like you asked. Sometimes urgent care won’t do anything, they’re saying go to the ER because you can get an antibiotic ointment to prevent infections once they do pop.

I poke little holes, like safety pin size, and let them drain and then put bandaids or some form of bandaging on them so they don't mess with them.

The pharmacy should have burn gauze which is moist with burn solution. Many places keep it behind the counter though. That’s what we used. I burned my fingers quite badly last summer around the camp fire.

@sandryane0317, we just wrapped my sons hand with non stick gauze pads and the bandage they use after they draw blood can’t think what it’s called... do that til the blisters pop and if you take him to the ER and they give you the cream apply it twice a day is what they told me and then continue that and wrapping his hand til it’s healed!

@sandryane0317, Omg popping burn blisters is a huge no no and can cause infection. You should take your son to a clinic or ER so they can wrap it properly to prevent infection. Hands touch dirty things ❤️

They should have given you a burn cream. Poor baby. I’d give Motrin. That HAS to hurt. Did they give you something to wrap it with?

Take him to the Er where a medical professional can give you the right medicine and instructions to treat this. Popping the blisters is only going to introduce infection.
