So im sure they will give me my rules but I’m curious can i eat before my induction it’s not until 5:pm

I don’t think so, I don’t think you’re allowed to eat before you give birth I think you’re only allowed to have ice chips and popsicles at least that’s what my doctors told me I may be different at other hospitals

I would definitely eat before going to the hospital. Maybe 2hrs before I walk in because if you’re in there for a while you won’t have anything to eat but ice and juice and popsicles. And that’s not even going to take the hunger away.

You can eat yes. They told me I could eat up until midnight and then after midnight it was just ice chips and water.

When I showed up for my induction they sent me down to the cafeteria to eat right before. So it really depends on the hospital and their rules.

They even fed me! You can eat up until a certain point. It’s funny that “point” for me was at breakfast- they said eat up because you probably won’t be eating for a while. Well I fooled them, baby came right before lunch and sure enough I ate my full meal 😂👶🏻💕.

Now C section I’m sure would be a different story!

@brittany88 shower & eat!!!! U'll check in but they won't necessarily start the induction until hours later. U won't have the baby until the next day most likely. & They DEFINITELY wont feed u after midnight!

@yatyat I agree @brittany88 that's an late induction - may not have baby until the next day. They may not tell you not to eat. When my doc does late inductions she usually starts the stuff that softens cervix that evening - and plan for water breaking/pitocin early the next morning. Interested in hearing the plan.

Did you asked to be induced I know we are delivering at the same hospital and wasn’t sure how that worked once you get to a certain point

@wolfe1134, yes i did!!! I begged I’m 37 weeks n i have gestational diabetes so that’s y it’s ok to be induced. I get induced at 39 weeks

I’m getting induced Tuesday I go in at 12:00pm and my Dr told me to eat something

@brittany88, ah well good luck momma I got a few weeks for little lady to bake but I just wasn’t sure how that worked at that office.
