As much as I’m high off of my happiness for having my daughter which I finally was able to bring her home. But to come home and find out I have to rehome my cat is killing me, I’m so depressed that I can’t stop crying. I have to think about my daughter but ladies when I tell you it’s killing me to think that I have to now give him away. I don’t even have a year yet w him, I was going to celebrate his 1st bday which was supposed to be on the 23rd. 😞😢💔💔
I heard that giving them a bath with dawn soap helps get rid of fleas and ticks. Don’t quote me, but it’s worth a shot. Than, some tick/flea medication on a monthly basis. It’s very affordable and you can get it at Walmart.
You might be able to find a groomer that will get rid of them (on the cat) for you! I would call around.
If it's fleas, you still need to treat the house, so there is no real good reason to get rid of the cat. Getting rid of the cat doesn't make them go away automatically. You treat them both and then make sure the cat gets a monthly flea/tick treatment on it.
Something that will for sure work is the treats that are for fleas yu get them from the vets. They work within a day.
Oh i have inside/outside cats and a newborn have not had any problems with fleas.
You can use any flea bomb but yeah you need to be out of the home for 12 hours. We had a similar issue and just stayed at my moms house. We did it right before we left at night, and came back the next morning and you would never know. And it’s key to vacuum all the time.
The bath will be a bitch. Like bad lol. They hate them but bathe first and then right after the bath use the treatments.
@ttcmomma719, we bought the spray and flea powder before and it really didn’t do the trick. But I’ve never tried a flea bath.
By flea treatments are easy and not harmful. They have flea collars. Flea baths. And flea sprays that are organic and harmless.
@mimixtmn, I called her pediatrician she said she will confirm what exactly it is. I sent her pics and she has an appt on Monday so we see then.
@ttcmomma719, no one is looking at my cat as an object but when my child is involved it’s something that needs to be thought about. I do not want to give my cat away. But if the bumps are being caused by my cat then and there’s nothing I can do then as much as It hurts me I have to rehome where i know he will be treated with as much love as I have given him
Fleas are so easy to get rid of. Jeeze. If a kid has lice do you send them to an adoption agency? I don’t know why people look at animals as objects.
@stephaniep2689, you can also get flea sprays, and powder for your carpets which works amazingly, a flea bath will kill most of them off but to keep them off I would get some stuff for like the back of his neck or a flea collar.
I gave my puppy a flea bath it works wonders just get cat flea shampoo there could be a better more natural way to do it like a spray that is more natural to kill them in stead of a flea bomb cause if u get rid of her u still will have the fleas
If there’s bumps all over it’s likely newborn rash and not flea bites.... her whole body wouldn’t be covered in flea bites unless she sleeping with the cat.
@milnera2014, I read about flea bombs they’re not good when it comes to having baby stuff in the house. And how effective is a flea bath?
@rebelprincesz24, I’ve explained to him that it takes time to get rid of the fleas. But the whole “think about our daughter” put me in a situation where I now have to choose my daughter over my cat. I just brought her back home today and out of no where couple minutes in my room I’m taking her clothes off to take her a rag bath but that’s when I see red bumps all over her legs, arm and some on her back 😭😢
@stephaniep2689, okay I would try and talk to him about other alternatives to getting rid of the fleas instead of the kitty.
@lii94, @rebelprincesz24, because he has fleas and I found bites or hives already on my daughter. So now my boyfriend does not want us to keep the cat. 😞
Why do you need to re-home him? I've always had cats, bringing my babies home changed nothing.
