If your baby is ever eating something and starts to gag... LET THEM GAG!! a couple times here and there. DON’T PICK THEM UP!!! And start to panic because you might cause them to choke. I can not repeat this enough. I’m only saying this because I tend to tell people let her gag it out and everyone around my baby panics and I hate that.

Thank you!! Too many times I’ve been called a bad mom for letting my son gag it out it makes me so mad. Thanks but I know what I’m doing and id rather him gag for a few seconds like his body knows to do than freak out and have to end up at the hospital because he’s choking.
@noenahiza, that’s not the smartest thing to do because it can cause them to stop gaging and start choking. The natural gag reflex is needed even in adult it never goes away.
I panic like crazy i get scared and just pick my baby up!!!
@bethann87, also I heard the louder the cough or gag means it’s better. No noise after some gags means they are not ok and to help them out
@bethann87, I let mines gag until it comes out... usually nothing comes out because it end up doing down after a couple gags. You’ll notice if they are in pain or distress but if he is sitting down looks like shit reacting fine then let him.
I have crazy anxiety about him choking so thanks for sharing this I hadn't thought about that. When should we worry? I've picked him up and flipped him face down once (supporting under the chin) and that was enough to clear his throat, he had gagged like 3 times before I got him
I try explaining this to people! If she is making noise and responding it means her body is fighting it. You pick them up or start hitting their back you are going to lodge it in more.
