Ive never breast fed lond enough to go through what your going through but i am planning on breast feeding and sticking to it this time and was told to get some balm for the nipples and nipple shields but ill use the shields every feed hopefully

@mrsmowmow, my midwife discharged me when Skye got to 14 days and my nipples weren’t really an issue until a couple of days ago. The cracking isn’t really bad, basically I have an inverted nipple which she finds really hard to latch onto, but that one has started to bleed and get really sore. I pump my boobs too which makes them really sore too. I told the midwife this and she says just to keep trying to get Skye to latch on and persist with it. I see the health visitor in early October so I will mention it then, thanks Hun I’ll have a look for the cream x

In your situation I would apply loads and loads of nipple cream and get a nipple shield and breastfeed with that until your nipples heal. Also get a breastfeeding consultant to come round again and again until you crack the latch and your bubba is feeding without it hurting at all.

@lovemyboys8, her latch is good on one boob, but my other boob has an inverted nipple which she finds hard to latch onto and it can be quite painful, that’s the one I’m having problems with x

After a feed squeeze a little bit of milk out and rub it on your nipples and leave them to air out for a bit!!

If they are really bad you can get gelonet from amazon and put a bit of it in your bra in between feeds, works wonders!
