Is it really rare for a toddler to get away with throwing a toy at a tv screen or knock anything off a counter that's within reach when no1 is watching OR does mine really have a serious discipline issue?
@gothamsmama that would be really frustrating! Testing limits is actually considered a sign of intelligence. I try to remind myself of this when my daughter does it. Lying is supposed to be a sign as well.
@mct, I have a three year old and she IS a hand full. I’d say she’s worse than she was when she was two because of her mouth. Girls... 🤦🏽♀️
@mct Thanks. I just get super frustrated and maybe a lil heartbroken when my husband comes home and is like "none of my other kids did that".
Every kid is different and every child has their moments. Some test more than others. It may not have anything to do with your parenting. He just may have that personality to test boundaries. The good news is when he gets older no one is ever going to tell him how to live his life. Remeber discipline simply means to teach. Just keep at it!
My son is the same way. He will literally do something he's not supposed to and look right at you while doing it with a smile. Or he'll do something and then call me or my boyfriend just to show us he did it, and sometimes he'll do something and just go "ha ha", he thinks he's real slick
