So someone posted on fb that her mom used to leave her in the car by herself as and infant all the time and that she didn’t die and that today’s kids are weak AF.

I said I thought that was awful and now I’m the stupid one because I take my daughter in with me to the gas station just to pay for gas or grab a drink. And wait till I have two kids because then I’ll leave them in the car.

I can’t believe how many people leave their babies in the car to go grab some groceries for 10 min and think it’s ok because it not always hot weather when they do it. I’ve heard to many stories to even think about it. Whether the baby dies or the car gets stolen with the baby in it or even repossessed. I have bad luck as it is.

What’s your opinion ladies?

The person saying that on Fb is the absolute dumb one and shouldn't be allowed to have that child if she thinks it's ok to leave them in a car!!! I will take mine in even if it's to pay for gas!! Absolutely under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should a child be left alone in a vehicle EVER!! what is wrong with her?!?! That's pure laziness and just plain wrong in my eyes...only time my child is left in the car is if my husband or I are in that car with them still! Smh no! Just no!

Never once have I left my son or daughter in the car to run in to pay for gas or get a drink, if I am going in so are my babies!! It’s not only because it’s hot out it’s because anything can happen in a split second kids are taken all the time.

I don’t think you’re stupid at all and to say kids now are week is just ridiculous 🤦🏼‍♀️ I take my kid in with me places even if it’s for a few minutes but there have been instances, and I might get a lot of heat for this, but when he’s asleep and I don’t want to wake him and just have to run inside somewhere to pick something up or pay for gas (and can see the car at all times) I’ll lock my car and use the remote start so he’s safe and still has the air. That being said the remote start only lasts 5 minutes and I’ve never been gone long enough for it to turn off. But I’d never leave the baby in there with the car unlocked and running or with it locked and not running. Idk maybe I’m just too comfortable with where I live

I don’t even leave my 8 year old alone in the car. I take both my kids in the store or wherever we are. I always keep blankets and a pillow in the car if my youngest falls asleep so I can situate him in the basket. In my state we can’t pump out own gas so it’s not an issue for me but if I had to, I would drag all the kids in to pay. Some people really shouldn’t be “ parents”.

My opinion?

Do not have living beings in your hands if you think that is a bright idea.

100% agree! Their is way too much that can happen to chance leaving your child in a car even just for a minute! I usually pay at a pump but I had to go in the other day to pay and it was kind of a pain but my son came in with me. I even had a perfect view from the cashier to my van but if anything were to have happened there would have been no way I could have got to my car in time to stop anything. My husband used to leave his son (my step son) in the car while he ran into the store and I used to chew him out for it until he stopped doing it.

I have 3 kids 5 and under and still take them inside. It's a pain that's for sure but there is no excuse. Your kidding asking for toys? Nonsense, I tell my daughter when it's ok to look for a toy at the store, she doesn't even ask without the ok. As for a drink, as long as she'll carry her own. All that is, is an excuse for laziness. I'm sure there are plenty of mom's who wish they had taken the time. Do you momma and leave that crazy group.

For the record ill pay at the pump if i can and that option is always first. Ill go through a drive thru for a drink. Or if me and hubs are together one of us can go inside

I’m not reading the comments because my phone screen is shattered and it’s nauseating trying to read through but I will say, my mom used to leave me in the car ALL the time, with the AC on or the heat on. She would tell me to lock the doors and if anyone weird came to the window to scream. Those were “safer” times.

And let me tell you I would NEVER leave my kid in the car until he’s old enough (and I’m not sure of that age that will be)

It’s disgusting that people think they can leave their infants or toddlers and elementary age kids in the car. They have no defense and no sense of what’s going on. One, two, or six kids doesn’t make a difference to me (unless one is old enough to watch over the others for a few seconds, and it’s situational as well. Paying for gas is one thing, going to the store is another)

No i don't think it's ok. I do run to pay for gas and come back with them in the car but i get nervous doing that. Anything else they come inside with me if its quick my 16yr old step daughter stays in the car with the baby. If step daughter with i don't mind leaving her with her while she sleeps or something. Not for long period of time though. To say today's kids are weak is messed up. So many deaths and what is bc they are weak? Someone need to smack her. Your not stupid for taking them inside with you.

I don’t like to leave my kids alone in the car. I take them in with me to pay for gas. If they are sleeping I just wake them unless I get lucky and someone we know is at the gas station. Then I’d get them to keep an eye on them while I run in to pay. Now I’m not perfect I can admit I’ve been in my driveway all ready to go and realized I left my wallet or something in the living room and ran back in to grab it. My drive way is right at my front door so I can see them at all times.

I don’t know why those moms think it’s such a hassle! Lol I mean you signed up for this. It comes with responsibility. I mean even just to get milk. I’ll spend the 5 min it takes to get my daughter out of her seat and put on her shoes (she normally takes them off) bring her in the store for milk for that quick min or two and spend the 5 putting her back into her seat. And when this baby comes, I’ll do the same! With both! Those are my babies. That extra 5 min each time is nothing compared to losing my children.

Having 3 kids, never once have I left a kid in the car. Ever. Now that my oldest can drive himself, clearly that’s another issue. I have never and will never. It’s a 100% avoidable thing. Not taking them is negligent and plain lazy.

Never ever would I leave my kids in the car alone and out of sight like that. There are sooo many things that could happen in just a short amount of time. I always take both my kids in with me and now going to have 3. Yes, it’ll be more difficult to get them all out but, I’d rather they be safe then make things easier on myself.

Never will leave my child in the car. Even to just pay for gas. Usually pay at the pump anyway. I’ll always take her out even if it was a quick stop. Regardless of temperature.

I've never left my kids in the car. When I get gas I make sure to pay at the pump. Going in for groceries my babies come with me. I've been that person who called police non emergency finding kids in the car during summer with the windows rolled up. You just have no idea and when they are asleep how are you to know how long that child has been in that hot car. If they are really asleep or worse!

@blessed2018w9, that’s what I said! There’s about 10 different moms ganging up on me saying I’m ridiculous. They try telling me wait till you have your kids screaming and crying because one wants chocolate and the other wants a toy. I clearly stated ok and when that time comes I will deal with it because I signed up to be a parent and that comes with my responsibility.

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

So I just saw a post and someone asked if they have to pump gas do they leave their kids in the car or not. Everyone said they take them in the gas station. Someone lying.... I have one kid and dont feel like doing that let alone 2 or 3 kids.I don't see the big deal honestly. If the line extremely long then ok. But literally you're away from the car like 1 min. Now if you going inside of Walmart or even Walgreens then hell no.. He coming but the gas station.. Really...

How in the hell does our society expect a single person to survive on one income? I’m not even going to think about adding kids into the equation... $500 car note $200 car insurance $200 power bill $80 water $40 gas and then money for rent/morgage food and gas for your car.... and to think some people drive past a homeless person and look down on them...
