I use to have the mesh bumper but my baby will always look to see if I was awake 😂😂 and would wake up more because her crib is in my room. Therefore I decided to buy regular that I tie and they also have veleco and they don’t slip or move and now she can’t see if I’m awake so she goes right back to sleep.

I only went and bought some mesh bumpers when my son got his leg stuck and couldn’t get it out, probably around 8 months. I wouldn’t say every baby needs them.

I only used mesh ones with my son.

@mhbb3 He won't sleep if he's swaddled or in a sack. We've tried. He cries.

Actually even the mesh ones pose a risk and AAP recommends you use a sleep sack instead.

My 2 month old flails around when he wakes up, and got his leg stuck in between two bars a few weeks ago. I broke down and put on a mesh bumper. I know it's not recommended, but I'd prefer he not break a leg before I can get to him.

mesh bumpers are safe. Its the regular ones that are not.

Or just wait until the time comes and purchase if you feel that you need it to keep them in?

Crib bumpers aren't safe. The only thing that should be in the crib is a sheet. Before more research came out about mesh bumpers I used them and hated them. They always just fell down and weren't worth the money in my opinion at the time.

I have used bumper pads with all my kids but this time decided on the mesh one so that's what's in her crib..you'll hear a mixture of things on them.🤷‍♀️ btw..mine is tide and also has velcro that is firmly tight on the sides not lose at all
