Wait! It's pretty normal to only know those words.

What I did with my old girls, I pointed at everything and said it a few times. When you are getting him dressed or changing his diaper and bathing him, tell him what you were doing. "We are eating ( whatever y'all eat) "Do you want some water in your cup" etc, etc..

@girlmom., he understands things I say , like “Jayden where’s the ball” “close the door” “pick it up “ etc .. just worried since he’s not verbal

My daughter just had her 18 month check up and she can’t say much. Just Dada, Hi, bye and No. I asked the DR if I should be concerned and she said not yet, she says it’s okay. She says she most kiddies don’t start to really talk until they’re closer to 2y.o!

I’d say wait, usually at that age they don’t know a lot of words, when he turns two if he still isn’t talking than that’s when i would look into speech therapy .

My sons the same, he just now started trying to say some things. He says yeah and bye(kinda) and a few other “kinda” words lol but that’s about it. But he also understands everything I say. I don’t plan on worrying about it until 2. Some kids just start later. So keep working with him and don’t worry :)

Children all develop at different times. There are babies who walk at 10 months others at 1.5. Same goes for talking. Give him time

First is always delayed in talking but you can always mention we meet with a speech therapist for my son and they told us he didn’t need it because we were already using the same methods they would have taught us just try and point and repeat the name of what ever you are pointing at he will pick up
