Has anyone had luck with pumping early 34 weeks. I’ve been pumping since sept 16 after giving birth. It’s been 2 days still nothing. Baby in NICU. Should I be patient? I know it’ll come eventually I’m just beating

Myself up about it.

Since you had your baby so early it will take more time for your milk to come in! Don't give up momma!

@kaitlinbaker23, thanks love and yes I completely understand that and knew before giving birth but it’s just after watching baby and everything I feel like a failure

Even for a full term child it can take 3-5 days for a mother's milk to come in, and that's with baby on the breast, which is more effective than a pump. Just keep at it, and hopefully it'll come in. Meanwhile, the little bit of colostrum you are getting is super high in calories and nutrients, along with antibodies to help babe's immune system.

You're doing great!

@chink93 I know its so easy to feel that way but you are doing SO good!!! Just keep it up! You're definitely not a failure! My bff just went through this and she had her baby full term. It took about 5 days of her pumping for it to come in!

@haslberry, thanks so much. Right now he’s getting the little bit of production I make through his feeding tube. They said we should be trying breast soon this week.

Ladies I called my insurance about breast pump and they said with their insurance in order to get a pump I get a prescription from doctor then I call 3 different numbers to see what my insurance covers but the only thing is I have to wait til baby is born to call and get pump so I want to at least buy a hand pump which do you ladies recommend for hand pump and when I can get a pump from insurance please n thank you 💖💖

Breast pump covered by insurance

Breast pump covered by insurance I've already done what I needed to find out what type of pump I get covered through insurance. It turns out, with my insurance, I can't even get my pump shipped to me until I call them with all the birth details of my baby. So...wth am I supposed to do having a baby and no pump?! I plan to pump exclusively and this REALLY throws a wrench in my plans.
