Has anyone had luck with pumping early 34 weeks. I’ve been pumping since sept 16 after giving birth. It’s been 2 days still nothing. Baby in NICU. Should I be patient? I know it’ll come eventually I’m just beating
Myself up about it.
@haslberry, thanks so much. Right now he’s getting the little bit of production I make through his feeding tube. They said we should be trying breast soon this week.
It's different for everyone u just have to stay on a schedule with it and don't go over 3 hours without pumping
@chink93 I know its so easy to feel that way but you are doing SO good!!! Just keep it up! You're definitely not a failure! My bff just went through this and she had her baby full term. It took about 5 days of her pumping for it to come in!
Even for a full term child it can take 3-5 days for a mother's milk to come in, and that's with baby on the breast, which is more effective than a pump. Just keep at it, and hopefully it'll come in. Meanwhile, the little bit of colostrum you are getting is super high in calories and nutrients, along with antibodies to help babe's immune system.
You're doing great!
@goatmomma, thanks momma. I was able to get one drop yesterday which the put across his gums but I missed 3 pump sessions due to being sleep smh
@kaitlinbaker23, thanks love and yes I completely understand that and knew before giving birth but it’s just after watching baby and everything I feel like a failure
@kaitlinbaker23, thank you so much. I feel so much better now.
