@lizsouthwick, it was really fun. Idk why men complain about working so much! Lol. But I wish We could go back to it. 😕. that job was back in SoCal. I still tell him all the time that was one of the most fun things we ever did together.

Growing up I wanted to be a librarian I love books and history. But when I met my husband,

he worked for a guy who tore up trailers and fixed up properties for resale it was a manual labor job, and he let me work with him it was the best thing ever! I was fit, tan, and made BANK lol! That would be my dream job RN.

@flamingomom, yea I’ve settled & it’s got me thinking.. I need to do something else! I’m a registered dental assistant no longer in the field, been a barista for 11 years now.. no future. Gotta do something soon.. I’m getting old.

Yeah i worked at one of the highest paying districts outside a big city. Cap for our job was 17/hr at last tier. Still only 1200/mo and I also got sick of only getting paid once a month lol 😒 its such easy work though @virgosweetness

@kambam damn lunch lady job only pays 8 dollars a hour here. I tried but i was like 8 dollars is a big nope for me

I originally wanted to work in microbiology, specifically researching therapeutic techniques with viruses... but after having my daughter I want to get into nursing. Still figuring it out lol

Oh goodness. That's awful. Well I hope you can snag a position soon. If they have any temp positions just take it because thats how I started and got perm the following year. Temp will most likely work the high schools a lot though. But it gets your foot in the door. I got the position because my mom worked the district. You can also look on edjoin for all educator positions. Even working recess aid or office aid would be good for the hours and holidays.

@kambam, I keep watching our elementary & middle schools.. there aren’t any openings but I keep praying. I don’t want to go to the high school. Ours here had a shooting in the cafeteria & I just wouldn’t want to be in a room where so many lost their lives.

Pretty sure most school dist are union. The highschools arent as nice because theres more ladies, more lunches, more kids. I liked when I got my own kitchen at the middle school and it was just 3 of us ladies everyday. We would just watch netflix and do our stuff 😂 Only reason I left was the hours werent great (20 a wk) and the supervisors were getting insane. Wouldnt let us order what the kids liked anymore, stingy budgets etc.

@kambam, for real!! That’s what I want! I love being in a kitchen! Getting off early, summers off, good pay...same schedule as my older boy. It’s union too right!? sign me up!

Lol I did nutrition assistance for 2 years! 1yr at high school and 1yr at middle school. Super easy. Home by 1pm everyday, all school holidays and 16/hr. Not bad. Loved seeing the kids everyday too 😊
