Anyone else deciding to tell the hospital to leave umbilical cord attsched until all the blood has gone to baby?? 🤔🤔

@mrskellaway not yet.. hopefully my next appointment I'll do that with her! But I really want the delayed cord clamp all the pros of it sounds amazing for baby! X

@nataliesmith96 have you done a birth plan with your midwife yet? There should be a section for it in your notes, make sure delayed cord clamping is written in there. I made sure I told the midwives at l&d as soon as I saw them also make sure your birth partner knows you want to delay, cause it will probably be the last thing youre thinking of straight after delivery but i know id have been gutted if theyd cut it straight away x

@mrskellaway So how do you go about doing this? Telling the midwife who will be looking after you whilst in labour?? Or when baby is about to be born? X

I did it with all three of mine, they were all winter babys (dec and jan) but none of them got jaundice and all three of them had gained weight on day 5, it might just be a coincidence but I really think leaving the cord for those extra minutes is so good for little one x

@jodiedillon3 yeah i didn't with my last and i just keep seeing lots of mums do it or loads of article's about it! X

I also want this there are a lot of benefits to it I didn't really think about it to much last time so hopeing for it this time too x
