Breastfeeding question.
So my son only eats off one side each session and it’s anywhere from 5-10 min and he is done. I have a fast let down and he handles it very well. The dr said he is just an efficient eater. And is obviously eating enough. (Weighed 5#14oz at birth now at 1 month is 8#1oz). But my daughter used to eat off both breasts each session when I fed her but she had a hard time keeping up with my let down but I felt I produced more with her. Idk. Is there any way to get him to want to eat off each breast or should I just not try.
Also I need to start pumping to save milk because I will be away from him for at least 12 hours one day that is in 3 weeks and I need to get some milk saved and I’m kinda freaking out because I pumped today and only got 5oz combined from both breasts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

One breast at a time is best so they can get the fatty milk at the end of the feed.
Make a pump schedule for 3x a day or so and you should reach that small goal. You'll only need about 20-24oz at least.

My son was the same. He would only eat from one side at each feeding & was super quick and efficient. I would pump the other side while he ate that way I could catch the letdown over there. I only did that a couple of times a day. 5oz is pretty good for at this point. That day is still 3 weeks away and the rule of thumb is to leave 1-2 oz for every hour you’ll be gone. I’m sure you will have plenty saved up by then. Don’t stress!

Try a Haaka. It works with your natural letdown to catch the otherside. I managed to build my freezer stash for when I went back to work without having to pump once on my maternity leave.

I agree with the haaka from above. I didn't use it, but heard great things.
Also i wouldn't stress him only eating from one side as long as you can easily keep it even.
Pump on the side he doesn't eat from each feeding to help build up your stash
