Does anyone have tips on making insulin injections less painful? Sometimes the needle won't go all the way into my skin…

@angelfoodcake, lol I’ve only done it once on my belly and I was paranoid the entire tome 😂😂😂. I’ll blame it on being a FTM 😂

@angelfoodcake, i know but the baby likes to stick to my sides and my paranoia makes me think I’m going to stab him, totally not possible but you know I’m a weirdo lol.

@blessedmommy0930, no problem I’m glad it was better. Practice makes perfect. I’ve slowly learned and I have the bruises and knots to prove it lol.

@raqueliiosiis Thanks for replying! After help from you and the young ladies above, I've figured it has to be my angle. I never even knew it mattered lol. I have been on insulin for about 2 weeks now and I've done it painlessly probably twice lol. Im going to be mindful of that from now on bc Im OVER it.

I was told to do my thighs or belly I personally don’t feel comfortable doing my belly. And I was told to go in at an angel so it’s less painful. And yes pinch some fat while your injecting. And go slow. My mom works at an elderly facility and she helped me learn lol. I would also change needles you may have the wrong size

@anndreeuhh I'm probably not inserting it straight in and that would explain a lot! Now that I think about it...it is kind of a weird angle. Thanks for the reply!

@angelfoodcake oh well boom! That's the solution to my problem! Lol

Make sure you’re inserting the needle straight in (kinda like at a 90 degree angle to your belly), I find it hurts more if I’m doing it quickly and it’s angled weird. Also, make sure you’re pinching some fat when inserting the needle. I always do my belly bc I have some extra skin there. It hurts more going into muscle.

Butt I don't even feel it lol

@angelfoodcake Thts a great idea! I may go shorter. I do rotate. I've tried diff areas of stomach and thigh. I may try my behind next and see if that helps.

Maybe change needle type, they come thinner and shorter... Rotate different areas
