I need advice because I’m just out of options at this point and have no idea what to do. My son will be 2 in November. We’ve never had any issues with him sleeping in his own bed. But this past week he has been refusing nap time and does NOT want to sleep anywhere other than our bed with us. Putting him back in his bed does no good because he just climbs right out of it and comes back into our bedroom. I don’t mind him sleeping with us every once in a while but I don’t want it to become a habit. Especially when the new baby gets here. Somebody PLEASE help me! 😩😩😩

My daughter did that when I was pregnant. I think she knew something was about to change and wanted to be close to us. We explained she couldn’t sleep with us and had to get her in her own bed because of Baby brother. Would be with us. Maybe explain taht to him. I hope it gets better

Had this issue just as he was turning 2 and he never slept in my bed! It was a ton of work but I would consistently put him back in his bed...tell him every single time why...like a broken record...same routine, kids good night and tucked in...took about a week or two and he finally stopped but nap time he sits with me In the recliner and naps which I’m okay with since it’s just nap time

I never had this issue but my mother in law talks about this all the time because my husband had issues. Apparently, he would just leave his bed at all hours of the night and go exploring. She said she finally had to lock him in his room because she was so afraid he would get hurt. The idea sounded horrible to me but I wasn't living it so I really can't judge. I just kept thinking what if they had a fire or some other emergency.

My daughter is going through this exact thing as well and it's been a nightmare. We never had problems with her sleeping in her crib and all of a sudden she just stopped cooperating. We don't really talk much about the baby and we still don't have the room ready or anything I'm not sure if she fully understands that there is a baby coming soon. She throws epic fits, it's not just her being awake and not going to bed. She will cry, scream, throw things and thrash about for HOURS we have tried letting her "cry it out" and she went from 9 until midnight passed out for 20 minutes then wake up and do it again 2 or 3 times a night. Explaining anything to her did nothing, putting her back in her bed every 5 minutes was exhausting and listening to her scream made it so no one got sleep. We won't let her sleep in our bed either so we reverted to when we first transitioned her and now she's sleeping in a playpen by our bed. Two nights now and everyone has managed to get some sleep. So we will slowly move her back to her room as she realizes every room in the house is a safe place. Message me if you want, I really feel your pain. Being pregnant makes it so much harder because you need a good night rest 😔

@leigha.mazur, that’s EXACTLY how it is for us! We haven’t even bought the first thing for this baby yet because it’s being so stubborn, so we still have no idea what the gender is! He’s been to a couple of appointments with us but he never pays attention so I honestly don’t know if he does fully understand there will be a new baby in the house soon. Even as a baby, we never had troubles with him sleeping in his own bed so this is all super new to me. 😩 I haven’t tried putting his playpen in front of our bed, I usually just give in and let him sleep with us because we both work full time and need our sleep, but I’m definitely gonna try that out! I’ve also had a few people recommend the melatonin gummies, idk if you have tried them with your daughter or not but I have REALLY been considering it lol.

@tylersmommy11116 Wow they are like twins 😂 we are working full time too and are desperate for sleep, I usually get up about 2 times a night to pee now too since baby is getting bigger so having her in the playpen helps keep me from disturbing her too much. We've gone on 4 nights now sleeping through the night thank goodness. If she starts going back to tantruming I'd definitely check out other methods. Lavender oil is supposed to help put them to sleep too if you have a diffuser!
