HELP! So I took my son to the Dr today and he has a virus that has to "run it's course" his throat…
HELP! So I took my son to the Dr today and he has a virus that has to "run it's course" his throat is sore and because of that he's in a lot of discomfort which causes him to cry alllllllll day and night. I feel terrible, he's in so much pain and I can see how much it's hurting him to swallow his drinks and food..... I've given him Tylenol (as his Dr said to) but it doesn't seem to help. Any thing else I could give him maybe to help this pass sooner? We are miserable 😭

@sjo1, awww I’m sorry momma! How old is he? He can sip on warm liquids like tea,eat or suck on cold liquids like ice pops, popsicles, gargle with saltwater, also what helps me even as a kid is sucking on throat lozenges it’s numbing medicine! Hope he feels better soon❤️

@melissaredfield87 Thank you! He's three! i feel so helpless, he is so uncomfortable and can't even get a full nights rest. All he's ate without complaining is popsicles :(

@sjo1, sorry didn’t mean to thank you lol try super cold almost frozen lemon lime Gatorade and I also forgot to mention vapor rub! Apply some on his throat,chest, back and bottom of feet.. it will help him sleep better I’ve also heard of a spoonful of honey and lemon juice

Popsicles and apple juice mixed with honey—- if he will drink it warm, even better. My doctor recommended both when my daughter was sick. Let him eat as many popsicles as he wants maybe get creative when you are less tired and make your own version, otherwise the box ones are fine!

Tylenol doesn’t help my son. I always use Motrin
I also like giving him frozen popsicles of juice or Gatorade or pedialyte, whatever i have in the fridge
