Tips Please!! I can’t breastfeed until Saturday morning due to the medicine from a vq scan I did on Tuesday. I was exclusively breastfeeding before my hospital stay so my son( 11 weeks old) got a few expressed milk bottles and now is on formula. I was super engorged yesterday and finally emptied them but now that I have they stay relatively empty. How can I fix this!? Thanks for any tips, tricks, and advice I will really appreciate it!

Have you tried expressing/pumping so you’re not full ? I would do pumping since it’s the only way to self release since u can’t BF ..

Pump as much as you can. I know it stinks when you just have to throw it out but it’ll keep production up. I was hospitalized twice for a week each after lo was born and that’s what I had to do. Every 3 hours or so.

@jellybeans_mumm, yes but now that I’ve emptied them my right side always feels full (I was SUPER engorged and now barely anything)

@emmy.0802, did one boob start producing way less? How did you fix it? How was breastfeeding after your returned back home? (My super engorged boob is now slacking)

Yes my right boob is a slacker 😂 I just try to have her use it as much as possible. I’m not going to lie, breastfeeding after the hospitalizations was hard but she was two weeks and a month so probably more resilient than your 11 week old. I had to supplement with formula for a while. It took hours of feeding and tons of dedication but she was eating normally again about a month later.

@emmy.0802, thank you! I’m so nervous about that! He still tries to eat from my boobs when I’m holding him and he’s starting to get hungry so I’m hoping it’s not too bad to start just worried about keeping up my supply
