@ladyblauvelt, yea like I was saying before, it depends on the kid whether it will be hard on them or not. But, in my personal opinion, I don’t want my kid to be that old with one. I would rather get rid of it by the time he is walking.

@meganph it wasn't really hard at all to get him off the pacifier at 2. He grew out of needing it and wasn't dependent on it at all.

My son lost it when I took his away so he ended up having it it until 2years old but I limited it only at bed time ,then one day I came home and our dog chewed his binky and I wasn’t going back to the store to get a new one and he actually didn’t care. So like you I agree 2 years old is too old and I hated watching him walk around with it so I took Natalie’s away 3 weeks before she was 4 months I did that cold turkey and it didn’t seem to phase her at all but I did it early because I didn’t want her to have an attachment like my son.

@taylorc, it depends on the kid I guess. I feel like my son is starting to be one of those kids that are REALLY attached to it so that’s why I’m trying to start weening soon rather than later so his dependence doesn’t get too much worse lol

@taylorc, if I wait until he’s older I may do it that way, but I think sleep would be HORRIBLE right now if I did it like that lol

@ladyblauvelt, In my opinion 2 is too old. I’m trying to get ahead of it before he gets too dependent on it and then it’s even harder to take. I don’t want him still having it while walking around.

6m seems a little soon... but I took my oldest son's away when he turned 2. I first limited it to nap time and bed time, then just bed time, and then one night he stayed the night at my mom's without one and I never gave him another after that

In my opinion I'd just take it away cold turkey. I just took the binkie away from my 15 month old when she was around 13 months, nap & bedtime where tough, she cried for about an hour. Once she got used to it everyday got easier & easier. Now I put her down for a nap or bedtime (she might whine for a minute) then just got right to sleep.

I heard a lot of people cut the tip
