Any suggestions on what I’m allowed to take for a cold? I breastfeed and want to make sure I don’t intake anything that can be passed onto my daughter.

I know the doctor gave me Tylenol and naproxen after giving birth knowing that I would breastfeed, so that should be safe then. But for more natural remedies, a hot tea with half a lemon squeezed into it and a spoon full of honey is what works for me before bed. And lots of oranges throughout the day.

I take tylenol and/or Tylenol cold & sinus. It was okayed by my doctor BUT if it's in my system it will be passed to baby in small amounts. I like to wait and take it right after I feed baby before a nap or before bedtime to make sure there's a lot of time before the next feed. It is "safe" to take while breastfeeding. It's really just a mask of the symptoms until the cold runs itself out. You could try using some home remedies like using essential oils/steamer for congestion, honey tea for cough/throat pain.
