Hey mamas,
I need some advice. Here’s the scenario: I quit my job mid-August to find a new job with a schedule that fits our home life better. I received an offer for a full time position today. Good pay, good fulltime job, standard benefits but we have insurance through my hubby’s job so benefits aren’t critical. And the money is not really critical. My husband makes enough for me to only work part time if I want. Ever since I accepted the offer I’ve been in a funk. I’m so sad to go back to work and miss my kiddo growing. I was hoping to find a part-time position for 3-4 days a week.
So here’s the question:
1) Do I take the full time job and know it’s only for a few months(I’m due in January 2019) And build our savings a bit?
2) Do I take the full time job and continue to look for the part time job I want?
3) Do I go back to retail work and only give the availability I want to and make less money but have a way better work/life balance but a harder job being on my feet and 5months pregnant?

If you like the job you were offered I would personally take the full time and look for a part time job in the meantime. It’s always good to save up some money when you have the opportunity.

I'll save some money by taking the job (since it's a sure thing). Wouldnt waste more time hunting for jobs while pregnant and wouldn't come back after maternity leave. Although I dont even think you'll qualify for that (less than a year in a job).

From the employer’s perspective: They will be investing time and resources training you for the job. If you’re planning on leaving in January, that’s not really fair to your employer. They won’t really get a return on their investment into you. If you’re only planning on being gone for 2-3 months maternity leave with intent to return to that job, then I’d say go for it.
