I have an interesting doctor..since she thinks I'm about 12 weeks she's ordering all this bloodwork all at the same…

@mommytok I have never had GD. My doc thinks I'm further along that's why she's ordering all these test because I'm almost into the second trimester. Its only been about a month since I found out I'm pregnant..I didn't know earlier otherwise I would have had my appointments a while ago. According to My last period I will be 11 weeks tomorrow but My doc thinks I will be about 12 weeks tomorrow!! She's probably right but we don't know until I get an ultrasound which is scheduled in 2 weeks!! My last Period was June 22 pushing my due date to around the 28-29th of March but doc gave me a due date of March 18th based off of how strong My Baby's Heartbeat is!!

Morning sickness and belly size aren’t an indication of how far along you are, regardless of past pregnancies. When was the first day of your last period? Also, I’m in MA and I didn’t do the glucose test until like 28ish weeks.. why are they doing it so early? Do you have a history of gestational diabetes?

@raqueliiosiis there are certain benefits I don't qualify for either but I knew I didn't want to pay for medical and dental out of pocket. Far too expensive

@al_lopezzzz2718, oh wow I didn’t know that’s what they offered. Unfortunately I don’t qualify for any assistance for medical or anything like that so I pay for it through work. It’s not too bad the only bad part is that I’ll be stuck paying for my labor br at the most I’ll pay like 2500 since I’ve met my maximum already

@raqueliiosiis I have Medical, dental and vision!! Get on dental and vision..it's $0 co-pay.. I'm on it for that reason! I do have one tooth I need replaced that I will most likely have to pay but as far as the exams go.. totally free basically!!

@nohamcased That's crazy..I would be questioning the doc. I asked mine what I could do about nausea and I was told to drink ginger ale..tried that..it's NOT helping. I asked if I could be prescribed something for that and constipation and all I was given was paperwork on how to naturally relieve myself..um no this Mama wants meds because they work instantly! I'm nervous about getting blood drawn again especially because I got anxiety from drinking the orange drink last week..I usually only drink water and they want me to drink this whole bottle of glucose stuff..hmm..there's no other way!?

@al_lopezzzz2718, oh do you have medical? I have private pay insurance through work and having dental and vision is so expensive. But yes typically they worry more about babies here and pregnant moms

@raqueliiosiis They seem to be more safety cautious and worry about your health more here especially because they offer Us dental and vision here and other states don't offer dental. I do love that about California!!

I've gotten blood drawn three times in the span of 10 days. It's crazy. Mississippi here. Not even doing abnormalities tests!

Lol I swear sometimes I think they just enjoy poking us here in California

@raqueliiosiis I'm in San Diego County. I'm new to California so I didn't know that at all. Last week they took 8 valves of blood. I don't think I could handle 9 valves.

If your in California they have to do it. I had my scan for the NT done at 12 weeks and then at 14 weeks they took out blood to get sent out to check for Down syndrome. I also chose to do genetic testing at 11 weeks so they took out 9 tubes of blood. I got blood done at my first appt which was 6 weeks. Again at 8 weeks. Then at 11 weeks, 14 weeks and when I did my glucose text. I’m in Orange County.

@marielovely Maybe they did but they never told me anything. My babies were all normal and healthy!! I don't know exactly everything this new doc is checking for I only know but a few things I was told. I haven't had a pap..she decided not to do that because I had one in April. She did test for STDs and stuff, the next one is glucose and to check my nutrition like iron, HCG levels, potassium things like that..that's all I know so far.

@marielovely I don't think I ever had that done. I have never had blood drawn after an ultrasound

@al_lopezzzz2718, to. Check if the baby has like Down syndrome.. they do scan on ultrasound to check and then afterwards take blood.. and I meant NT not nst lol they do it between 11-13 weeks

@al_lopezzzz2718, yeah blood work is normal .. I’ve had one for to check for stds and stuff, glucose test, group b strep , nst, and like one other one I forgot wat it was

I'm in WA so I don't know if it differs but I had to get all the bloodwork done after my first appointment.

@marielovely I have shown pretty fast with my last 3 kids. I realize every pregnancy is different. Was your bloodwork done every week!?

You don’t have to be big to know that .. every pregnancy is different you can show faster with one kid and then can take a longer time to show with the next and yes blood work is normal I had like 3 in a month but this whole pregnancy all together I’ve had like 4 or 5 blood draws
