Not sure how I feel about doing maternity pictures. I want to do them but I don’t wanna spend lots…

I'd say do them @fishinamanda even if you have someone you know or you yourself take them.

I have not done them and honestly I’m not sure I care especially for my first kid. The first pregnancy was an experience all in itself I know I won’t forget. Mine wasn’t planned though. I believe it’s a waste of money unless you’re announcing it to family and including it into the baby shower invite etc.

Although most of the time it’s hard for me to do things with the end results being purely for my own pleasure, again that’s just me.

It depends on how important it is to you. It's different for everyone. With our son, we had a friend take some pics of us for free. This time around we did professional pics because we tried SO hard for this baby after experiencing a very painful loss (and also because we didn't have a shower or anything to celebrate this baby and it made me really sad that no one really cared about this pregnancy). We also got a good deal this time because it was our realtor's wife. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, just have a friend or family member take a few pics. You won't regret it! But you might regret not doing it...

I didn't do maternity pictures and I don't regret it. I wish I had done newborn pictures though. If it were me I'd skip thematernity (or do your own) and save the money for newborn pics.
