*** RANTING***
So we are going to court next month for my boyfriend to get full custody of his son because his mother lost him, I'm freaking out because our baby is due in a month and this is my first child and this is all new to me.. I love his son like my own but my boyfriend thinks its all easy!!! Like easy for him becAuse he'll be gone all day working well I got a 2 year old and a new born at home with me 24/7 its gunna be a lot on my plate.. Because the new baby is gunna need my 100 percent attention all the time. Has anyone else gone threw this and your experience with it
It will not be easy but you can totally do it, and you’ll eventually get into a routine that will make things easier. Also I would recommend getting a moby wrap or some sort of carrier so you can breastfeed and bond with your baby while having your hands free with the newborn. It will seriously help you so much! When my 2nd was born my oldest wasn’t quite 2 yet, and he has autism so that added a whole other level of neediness from him. The baby carrier saved me. I got to give my older son attention and care for my newborn. Just try not to overthink it and stress yourself out before it’s happening, you’ll do fine! 😊
I meant while having your hands free for the 2 year old *

You’ll get through it.
I have a 6yo, 3yo, 21 mos and a 7 week.
Anything is possible. I’m also alone with them a ton because their dad works out of town a lot so sometimes I go 2 weeks without seeing him or getting any help.
Anything is possible just try to set up a routine as soon as possible. 😊
@vvrobinson thank you I appreciate it
@sarahbethk exactly I was very colicky when I was a baby and I drove my mom up a wall lol. I mean he's a good kid other than his tantrums their horrible and you can't touch him or it gets worse so I just let him do his thang! But their bad to wear he'll give him self a black eye so their gunna do some test on him.
@vvrobinson yeah that's why I'm freaking out that's why I saod in the beg a new born need ypur attention 100% of the time but I just have to get I to a routine and I should be fine
@vvrobinson yes I have told my boyfriend the exact same thing he's 2 so hes gunna be all over the place getting into every thing then have a new born crying to be fed or needs to be change ECT.. And with his son hes going threw really bad tantrums right now where he flares around on the ground screaming doesn't matter where he is and if you try to comfort him it gets worse. And I told him that to that I'm not even gunna get the chance to just bond with the new baby I'm not trying to sound selfish or anything
We see his kid every week but I've never lived with his son yet. Hes gunna have to get used to my rules and a different routine that what his mother did. So its all new for him to. An adjustment for all of us not just me
@jenny955, that’s good u got some family close, that’s definitely helpful and I never questioned it bc ur on here talking abt taking care of them both n asking for any suggestions in this, good mommy moves. Shows u care right there, but ur def right routine and getting use to it all will be super helpful. I hope it goes smooth as it can for u
You’ll be fine maybe at first it will be hard but you’ll get the hang of it and you’ll be a great mother
@joyfulmom2b yes its gunna be a lot and your right all of a sudden I'm gunna be taking care of 2 children. I got some family that are pretty close but the rest are far away so its not gunna be easy to get help.. And sometimes I'm gunna wanna pull my hair but that doesn't mean I'm gunna give up on either of them. It will get easier over time because ill get into a routine with them bit at first its gunna be wack
I can’t say I know exactly how you feel, but my son was 16 months when my daughter was born, my husband works 24 hour shifts, and at times it could be overwhelming, but try to incorporate your step son into things with the baby, ask for his help, to get wipes or diapers for you. It will make him feel important and excited to be with his new sibling. The baby should nap frequently during the first few weeks too, take that time to bond with him and show him he is important. The whole experience will teach you patience, and it will teach him patience too.
@jenny955 your just overwhelmed thinking of all the what ifs dear try not to stress its really not good for you or baby and i know its easier said then done lol my third child and i still stress out about the what ifs.... But just take it one day at a time.... Hopefully it wont be a long drag out for court appointments either because thats stressful... Feel free to rant and blow off people who try to make you feel bad about ranting we all need to get it out at times. And sometimes what others have to say really have no impact on us or our lifes...
@mom13 thank you, I do support my man threw all this. Yeah its gunna be a big adjustment for all of us but well get threw it, but they will both be loved the same. But we wont get him right away it gives me time to adjust to the new baby. This is our first court date next month so its gunna take some time to settle every thing. But his mother doesn't deserve him and I stepped up and I said then hes gunna be in our care and he will have salbilty
@itty_bitty, @kendrab, @jenny955, I don’t think any of her rant has anything to do with her accepting her SOs kid.. she said she loves him as her own.
and I can completely understand being pregnant for the first time and then having 2 kids all of a sudden.. imagine be overwhelming specially by urself taking care of them. like most first time moms worry abt everything, ur fine..
but I would think sometimes things might get overwhelming just remember to take a min or two for urself when u can..
@itty_bitty dear the way you worded it did come off as a bit rude i get that you think this is what is common sense but maybe your wording could have been choosen a bit better
While at one aspect you have no choice and another you do. But i want you to think about this you would want your baby to have a safe and loving home that 2 yt old deserves the same thing. While yes it will be an adjustment for you and him. You wont regret loving another child that essential is your family as well. As long as you and his dad are together he is also like your child as well. I get the whole staying at home thing with a 2 yr old and having a new born my son is 2 now and im due in October i also however have a 7 yr old girl. All children need is attention and love. Support and yes every now and then disipline. You will feel like your going insane at times but in the end it is worth it i promise you that. If this mother is unfit to provide for the child and dad wants to be there id support my man 100% and you bet id be scared for the adjustment but id also know this child didnt ask to be put in this situation and needs love. You always have this community to lean on and rant to. There may be some negative nancys on here (not as many as there use to be) but there are a bunch of us who will try to help and try to help make your day a bit brighter when its dark. Idk if this will help any but you can always msg me if you need to chat
I never once said I wasn't gunna take care of his child or leave him out I clearly stated that its gunna be stressful and its all new to me
@itty_bitty common sense?? you Cleary miss understood my whole status! I just said I love his son like he's my own but its gunna be a lot.. Lol common sense
Hun, when anyone gets with someone who has children you're also getting with the children. You're bonding and making a relationship with them as well. Newborns dont take up as much time as you'd think. When the time comes to having both of them I'm sure you will do just fine!
@itty_bitty I didn't ask for rude comments. And I understand that I have to take care of his child all I'm saying is its gunna be stressful ill have no help and I'm a first time mom
New babies actually need less attention then you'd think
