Moms,
Due to recent concerns brought to us by other users, we would like to announce that we will be adding a new feature to the mom.life app. This new feature is currently being worked on by our developers, and the release date should be relatively soon. We have had several concerns about users screenshotting posts, and sharing those posts outside the mom.life app. We do not tolerate this type of behavior, as it is a direct violation of our community guidelines. Per the new feature, you will now be notified each time a user screenshots your post, photo, or profile page information. This should eliminate all concerns about photo safety, as well as bullying in other apps. We have been internally able to detect these issues. We have also removed several users who have been apart of these situations, and will continue to do so. Please note that we do our best to make mom.life the safest community possible, and only encourage you to share things you are comfortable posting.
🧡mom.life_usa💙
So I have a question. When you get this notification is it then your job to contact mom.life and then it will be dealt with? What happened if you are ss an inspirational post or dinner picture not to share but for your own personal use? I like taking pics of good looking food to try and make later.
@unicorn_mama, you are doing the most girl. Lol it’s just a few comments up. Just as you had enough time to call her out for being unprofessional, you had enough time to scroll up and READ! 😂
@unicorn_mama well honestly it seems the rude one here is you. You're the one getting angry and lashing out being sarcastic to a community manager just because you didn't like the way she answered you.
@unicorn_mama You should read through the whole post before asking something, that's why this is an informative post so that you read through it and inform yourself not a "answer my question even if someone else already made you explain it because I don't feel like reading" post.
@oceanhalo, You can always post your photos and such to your followers only, that way only your friends that are following you can see.
@unicorn_mama, I’m not unprofessional just because I told you the question was answered in the comments above. I’m not rude, either. But thank you. ❤️
@wickedlittlethings. Okay, yes I can see how it can be traced back to whomever took the original screenshot on this app, but people would have to be actively checking other apps to see if the screenshot was taken elsewhere, which most, including myself, aren't even on other apps... So like you said, it's probably best to not even post pics because it can be taken elsewhere and used maliciously and unless you are actively hunting your screenshot down, you see it or someone tells you about it, you wouldn't even know....if that makes sense...
@unicorn_mama she's addressed your question several times from other users. It's not going to hurt for you to look at it for yourself. I'm sure you don't want to type out the same answer to the same question over and over either. Its redundant and wastes time.
@gummybear728, Comments above explain this. It has been stated several times.
@mommy2bemo the app would be so laggy if everyone was sharing videos. I'm glad we don't have that.
What about when a mom shares a funny meme and I save it? Is that allowed? Because a lot of memes that some moms post make me laugh
@oceanhalo, If you see your photo, or child’s photo on another app and someone is being malicious, it will then be traced back to that user, and they will be banned from the app. If you’re afraid this will happen, it’s best not to screenshot.
@wickedlittlethings. So when it comes to screenshot being taken of a child/children's/family picture...Will that automatically be grounds for suspension? Because if someone takes a screenshot of another person's child or children but then isn't malicious about it on this app, but takes it to another app to be malicious... how will the person be able to prove they're being malicious with it on another app?
@beachcutie0808, If you’re not comfortable posting your child, then don’t. If someone is trying to be malicious, they will immediately be banned for taking anyone’s photos.
Yoooooo that’s super cool! Great idea - Not only because there are women on here that use SS’s to gossip, but because it’ll be nice to know if anyone ever saves a photo of your kids or something.
I do have a question, though. I know someone clarified that we will be notified of whoever takes the screenshot, but will it tell us which post they snapped? Or which picture? Personal info on our profile, etc? Or will it just say this person screenshot something of ours but not be specific... Am I making sense 🤔😂
This is okay but how does it stop ppl from screenshot your baby pix and your personal pictures. (As happened to me) they stole my picture and wrote stuff all over them then reposted on their profile
@wickedlittlethings., thank you 😊
I have screenshot recipes that other moms share is that bad to do now? ☹️
@joyfulmom2b, If you’re screenshotting something to be malicious or hurtful, then yes, you will be banned and removed from the app. Screenshotting something funny, a recipe, etc will not get you banned from the app.
I think it’s very sad that these rules have to be put in place but I understand they do. Why anyone would take ss of another person or their child is unbelievable. But I’ve seen it happen and it’s a disgrace. Come on ladies get it together ffs
@whitninicole, Racist remarks will get you either a suspension/ban. Always report those types of things to mom.life as soon as they happen.
@leonardsquared, As long as you’re not being malicious or attacking another user, you will not be removed for screenshotting.
I also screenshot some of @icebergahead posts lol she has great creative ideas! I supposed I’ll just let Ice know when I’m a creeper from now on 😍😂
Soooo... im confused there is a share button for posts.. that goes to Facebook and a list of other things.. but It’s against mom.life rules to share outside of site?
I mean for the photos it makes sense with the screenshot stuff protect our babies but why not just make posts shareable or not then since u have the share button?
I’m confused
@leonardsquared I think as long as its okay with the people who's posts your taking the screenshot from it should be alright, I don't mind and I'm sure @icebergahead doesn't either.
What about people that make racist comments? Can they please be removed from the app?
Hey sometimes I screenshot just cause it's funny, not cause I'm a creep! Like @leroydoom and @icebergahead always posting the funny memes or throwbacks. Or even when someone posts one of those sweet quotes or something like that, I'll sometimes screenshot. Is that gonna get me kicked outta here?? I have NEVER EVER, not even once, screenshot anything maliciously or with ill intent.
I’m about to screenshot this post to share with another mom 😂 hope that’s cool
@mom13, she answered your question. If you screenshot YOUR post, it will notify you that your UN screenshotted it.
This is awesome!! Thank you @mom.life_usa, for always making this a safe place.
@mommy.to.sterling but what im saying is if i do it to my own post am i gonna get a notification that i SS something cuz i SS my own stuff at times and if it does that it will kind of be annoying
I’ve screenshot memes and recipes before! 🤷🏻♀️ whoops.
Will this report your self to you for SS because i have done that to my own post to share on another app because im to lazy to type it more then once?
@hazeleyes20, If they’re doing it to be rude or hurtful, they will be banned.
@wickedlittlethings., and if someone does can they get in trouble or something like what’s the point of this because we have a share button
@wickedlittlethings., is this showing who screenshots your post
Sooooooooooooo. How’s that block feature coming along?
@bigmama18, @bodybycheetos, No, you will not be banned for taking a SS of an inspirational photo or of a recipe. People will be banned if they specifically take photos/posts only to use them to attack people on the app or off the app.
@bigmama18 😯😬 I do that with recipes too. Does that mean I'll get banned if I ss to make something later? Cause how do they know when it's something like that or someone actually sharing the ss?
@ashleyrod, I don’t have Snapchat I never knew Snapchat done that, that’s pretty cool, I don’t have a lot of social media all I have is mom.life and Pinterest, and Facebook but I haven’t used Facebook since I was 17 lol I’m not big into social media
So I have a question. When you get this notification is it then your job to contact mom.life and then it will be dealt with? What happened if you are ss an inspirational post or dinner picture not to share but for your own personal use? I like taking pics of good looking food to try and make later.
@ashleyrod, omg I requested you because I accidentally unfollowed you when I cleaned out my list.
@amberjacq, it’s like snapchat. if someone SS your pic or video it’ll say who did it.
This is going to be a pretty cool feature, I never knew technology could do this but then again I’m terrible with technology so I really don’t know much lol but I think this will be really cool!
@kaym, That’s going a little to far. What would even be the point of having a share feature then?
@jellygodmother, There will be a feature that is added to disable anyone from saving your photos.
@jahniesha, Watermarking is always a good option! I use PhotoGrid to watermark my images. It’s free and easy. 😊
@wickedlittlethings., okay I understand just wondering I don’t have any other form of social media so I don’t know how they work this is all I have and I’m just learning how to watermark the pictures so I’ll just start doing that thank you ❤️
Is it also going to remove the feature where you can simply click and save a photo?
@wickedlittlethings. Yes will it alert us if someone screenshots from the time line? Also the name of who screenshots it?
@jahniesha You should only post what you're comfortable posting.
@jahniesha, If they share ANYTHING, they will be permanently banned from the app. If you want to post photos, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. But, like with ANY social media platforms, people can take screenshots.
Why is it even allowed to screenshot if I actually screenshot anyway even if I’m notified it doesn’t stop that person from sharing the pictures...so should we stop posting pictures if we don’t feel comfortable
Thats awesome !!!! I noticed as well that you can download pictures what about that ???

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...

What's your baby's name? How did you find it and what does it mean?
Let's share our #babynames ideas and inspirations. Post your baby's name on the main feed with a photo! It can be a bump or baby pic! Please add the hashtag #babynames so we can read them all 👶🏻
Can't wait to see them all ❤️
Share with your mom friends so they can join mom.life and post their #babynames 👶
Sooooooooooooo. How’s that block feature coming along?
