So does anyone that lives in New Jersey ( or any other state can help) knows the average amount of ultrasound they should receive while pregnant and at what point in there pregnant they receive the last one (weeks wise)

A few things come in to play. The type of insurance you have, medical history, previous pregnancy history etc. I had a lot since I’m high risk. For the end of my
Pregnancy I had 2/week and for a month before our induction date. If I remember right, 2 first tri, 3 second tri, and then depends on other factors. (So 1 almost every 4-6weeks.)

To add my last one was at 37wks. We delivered early. 💕😌

@sky105, okay I need to know because so far I’ve had 7 I think. I’m 25 weeks pregnant today, I have an appointment today and I don’t want to go if I don’t have to plus I pay $50 very ultra sound visit

@sky105, this is also my very first pregnancy and my health history just shows I have Anemia (a sickle cell trait ) that’s about it

@leshain18, is it a routine ultrasound or a scan for something specific? I would ask the dr to see if you can skip it? 7 isn’t bad, that’s actually more than some get for their whole pregnancy.
I couldn’t skip any and I wouldn’t have since they monitored everything closely.

Congratulations!!! 💕

@sky105, I think one was for something specific they got the result they were looking for but I just can’t pay $50 every visit and I have 15 more weeks to come

@lpheartsyou, I had one for growth too and my baby is measuring a whole week bigger that the side he/her should be at this point so I’m guessing I’m having a big one but other than that I think 7 is a bit much so far and having 15 more weeks to go

@leshain18, speak to your doctor to see if and why you “need” so many. I understand where you’re coming from. Maybe they consider you high risk.

@sky105, I hope not but thank you

Most insurances will only help with 2 or 3 standard. Definitely speak to your doctor he might be able to right it up to where insurance will completely cover

I've had about 7 or 8 and I'm only 28 weeks. But they were monitoring me weekly as I was having complications! I'm on regular visits now , so not sur3 how often I'll be getting them !
