Serious question is there a better alternative to formula?

You might just need to try a few different formulas until you can find one that works for him

@k_nc, I’d have to ask about samples I’m waiting on them to response to my message now. He doesn’t go back to the doctor until his 9 month appt

@rachelleclister, you don’t have to have an appointment. I’d just call the nurse again tomorrow and ask if you can come in and get sample cans of a few different formulas to try before you commit to sticking with a brand

Hopefully your doc can get a new prescription. Another idea if you have unopened formula, try swapping with a mom that has what you want

@spookylyn, Yes dairy or other forms of animal milk aren’t recommended till 1 year plus.

Likely this reaction could be due to a milk protein allergy or “intolerance”.

Nutramigen is a formula used to in the dietary control of infants/toddlers who have allergies to dairy and also soy proteins. This could be a good option to try. It was actually prescribed for our son with special needs when I stopped pumping breast milk for his feeding tube around 14 months. It’s very easily digested, but is a bit pricey. For a 500gram container it’s around $29.99. Good luck 🤞🏻Also its often a prescription formula so this may benefit you, as it was prescribed for our son also.

@rachelleclister my baby is 5 weeks and ive already went to doctor 2 times to change his formula. They gave similac advanced at first with wic then dr switched to total comfort now I'm about to try soy. I hope that this is the one.
