So I am 5 days postop c/s and I decided to take my kiddo (12 yr old) to the fair. Well the whole family ended up going including new baby boy. I walked a couple miles while I was there. I took lots of breaks as well. I feel great minus my butt being sore and my hip flexors. Anyone else out there walk this much 5 days after a c/s? Or those with their experiences please?
I had csection on a tuesday, was released the next day on my way home I went to my old workplace to show pictures, went to walmart, the pharmacy then went home. Day 3 I walked around the big hospital navigating my way to find the nicu where my girls were, found them and kept walking between their rooms because they were in separate rooms. The nurses all told me I was overdoing it I should rest but I was too worried about getting to actually see both of my girls. I was a little sore but healed perfectly fine no problems no extra pain, I stopped taking pain medication at about 1 1/2 weeks pp I believe and I was mostly just taking the ibuprofen from the start.
@rcbaby2, did you have any lower extremity swelling? Or stretching type pain in ankles?
@rcbaby2, that’s awesome. We do a lot of walking around our property. I also have been out of the house every single day since I was discharged. The first day I had to go to target to get my rx and some other things for baby. Couldn’t send my husband alone he wouldn’t know what to do. And as for tonight I had woken saying how badass I was for being out and about. And they said it in front of my husband which is even better cause now he won’t tease me so much.
I got discharged on a Thursday Friday I was at Wal-Mart walking around Sunday I was at church everyone looked at me like I was crazy but I felt good when i felt like I was doing to much I sat down for a little bit and kept going granted I was going thru a lot being a single parent but it pushed me to get up when I was in pain
@rcbaby2, sweet. I don’t feel like I over did it. I’m sore in other spots I expected to be sore in since I was down for almost a week from labor and then the delivery and c/s. But to be honest I feel pretty good. I may be a little more sore tomorrow but I don’t expect it to be terrible. How much walking were you doing?
@amberbushatz14, you rock! Sorry they were in different rooms and I hope they were okay. Glad you healed up good to.
