@kailynnpatrice, your instincts to cut him off seems to be the best idea. Someone who can’t stay out of jail or behave on probation is not who you want your child to look up to.

Personally I would have just went with the flow.. No overthinking... If he haven’t done you wrong there is no reason not go visit him.. Anybody locked up would want to get visits from those who care... And I guess men in general do not really make it appointments.. so yeah...

@keii, well he has messed up in the past and we’re not exactly together right now and I don’t plan on trying to be w him. I would like for it to work but in order for that to happen he’s gotta grow up and get right. it’s only been about a week he’s in there so when I find out how long he’s staying or when he’s getting out then I might go see him or i’ll write a letter

i’m also really worried that if I do decide to go he’ll be like wtf are you doing here, go home or something like that and I can’t handle that rejection

Maybe write him a letter if your not sure if he would want you to visit. I’m all for teaching ppl a lesson but in jail everyone needs someone for support when they are at their lowest. I’ve been thru it with my so (he has smartened up and hasn’t been in jail in a longgg time) but also his brothers. I talk to my one bil basically daily from jail he calls because he needs to to keep himself sane, he did 3 years got out for a year and has been back in now for 8 months, he has learnt his lesson now I am sure but he still won’t be home for at least another 4 years. If jail doesn’t change someone nothing else can, I can promise you if he’s in there with nobody he will turn crazy not change for the better.
