Can someone please help me understand the urination process postpartum with 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th degree tears?
I’m legitimately freaking out about tearing, crippling fear even.
OUCH is all I have to say. It will get better though.
@efesmama it actually wasn't too bad. I'd had a c-section before so to me... the tearing was 1000x easier to deal with. Sex is still great so everything healed properly. I didn't have issues walking and the stitches dissolved
I had a was cut by the doctor I didn’t tear with my first. It burns just use the numbing spray they give you and the bottle for wiping. It’s a lot better than a c section! I have had both
I had a 1st tear... but instead of perinium tearing, I tore at my clitoris
I would cry when I would pee 😭😭 , I’m really hoping I don’t tear this time
@efesmama, yeah they help. And they will give you a squeeze bottle to rinse off so you don’t have to wipe
@tacos4lyfe, really??? I hear you get the stool softeners to help
@optimusprimesmom, thank you for this. How did you avoid tearing round two?
Peeing isn’t hard. The trick is pooping
Your nurse will walk you through your post partum care. No worries. I had an episiotomy with my first and like everyone said, it just stung a bit. I had a very small tear with my second. Not even worth getting stitches. So it's possible you may not tear. Stay positive!
@alaugust, 😩😩sigh that was a week ago. Congratulations mama!!
I had multiple second degree tears and ended up needing a catheter due to extreme swelling so I didn't have to go pee for the first 35 hours but I had no stinging/burning the first time I actually went
@mediumrarechicken, thanks for the resource by the way
I had a second degree tear, wasn't bad, just will be sore. Luckily didn't sting when I peed or hurt. They'll give you a water bottle to spray when you pee, it's a gift from God.
@mediumrarechicken, I’m genuinely trying to not let it get to me 😩😩
you can still pee it stings the first time , but i tore with my first front to back 2nd & 3rd degree tears
Did you tear while pushing and how bad was the experience of tearing?

Finally, after 8 years, PCOS and lots of tears and tantrums.
Experienced moms..Did you all tear during delivery with your first? I’m expecting with my first and I keep watching YouTube videos on how to avoid tearing LOL I’m so fearful. Can it really be avoided ? 🤭if so how ...
Did anyone tear during birth?
If so what was your go to options to heal yourself? As in what did you use for pain an to take care of the tear.
An how long did it take for you to get healed? Any information is helpful.
Do you tear more the second time around or just depends? I had a first degree tear with my first but kinda getting a little nervous as I'm getting closer lol...
@efesmama thank you! It was totally worth it 😁
