Hey mommas can anyone give me their opinions on the IUD? Does it effect sex or make you bleed after it’s been put in etc? Pros and cons please :) I’m suppose to be getting it 9/6 and just wanna make sure it’s a good fit
I have the paragard and this is my second time having it. My only issue is my periods are ten days long every month and heavy day 3 through 9 and every couple months my cramps are super horrible.
I've never had one but my sister did and she said the little plastic piece that needs to be long enough to get it out was too long for her and they couldn't cut it any shorter, it ended up stabbing her husband's dick when they would have sex and actually punctured the tip.
I had mirena and it ended up piercing through my uterus and was in my pelvis for 10 months. I bled constantly. After having it surgically removed, I had a paragard which was great. I was told I have an unusually small uterus which may have been he culprit for the mirena ending up in my pelvis. They both go in differently so it’s important to look up the difference. I’ve had friends who’ve had great experiences with both.
Hmm...I wasn’t expecting such tragic things @mimixtmn I’m kind of scared to get it now
I bled everytime I had sex. Still got my period monthly. After 18 months I got pregnant and found out my iud was lodged in my cervix and had to have it surgically removed. I then found out my pregnancy was ectopic and had to have 2 rounds of chemo treatment to dissolve the pregnancy. It was hell and I would never recommend the iud to anyone.
I had Mirena inserted two months ago and I had spotting for what seemed an eternity but it's OK now. I haven't bled while having sex and my husband did not feel it at all. I hope I won't have any medical issues. 🤞 I had the strings checked and doc said they were a bit too short so I'm getting a sonogram this week to see if it is too high up or not. I need this to be effective since I don't want any more children! Reading other people's experiences is terrifying, but I guess everyone's different.
