This girl that I went to school with and also went to a teen mom support group with has really pissed me off. I’ve seen her post on Snapchat a couple times of her son, the same age as mine, not in a car seat while driving down the road. He’s grandma posted one on Facebook the other day too of him in the front seat standing up singing to the music while the car is driving down the road. They don’t see anything wrong with it. When one person had even asked about it she told them not to worry about a child that isn’t her. Since then they’ve removed the post. I’m just so irritated that she’d be so stupid to let him do that let alone and then post about it on social media.

She’s young so let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. The grandma tho?! She should be old enough to know better! Sometimes people don’t like being told anything, they are so quick to get upset when all anyone’s trying to do is give her advice that she obviously needs 🙄

I would put an inquiry into social services. It is your business when an innocent child’s life is at risk, and if she will not take feedback, it has to be forced down her throat.

@amysbabies, I’ve been thinking about it. My goal isn’t to get her child taken away by any means. I just know how her family is and they wouldn’t listen to ANY outside opinions. They are very opinionated and if you tried talking to one of them you’d get the rest of them going off on you. I’m just concerned for his well being.

@youngbutwisemomma, I don’t think they would get taken just for that, but if there are more serious issues taking place they could. I was thinking they would be more firm, or maybe offer additional education classes or even a resource for a free car seat. Social workers aren’t evil, they don’t like taking children away, it’s their duty to
Protect them and they cannot give people the benefit of the doubt- I think that’s where all the hate of them comes from. I’m sure their are a few off their game, but they are typically wonderful people- strict, but wonderful. That young Mom might just need to be “scared” by a proper authority. If it doesn’t turn her around, then she has even deeper problems.

@amysbabies, that was very well put. It helped my perspective some. I have had a bad experience with a social worker so it’s just hard for me to not feel guilty for calling, but I’d feel even more guilty if something were to happen to him if I didn’t. Idk yet, I’m still contemplating on calling it in.
