Well today as a new mom again sucks. While yes I have this beautiful boy to stare at the only reason most of the people have come out to visit is because of my husband. He has my child at a birthday party since I can’t leave to take him. My mother in law is being nasty with me about my mom cleaning my house for me (which she offered to do, because my mom is awesome, and I even told her she didn’t have to do anything). My abdomen hurts from the c section. My poor baby isn’t getting enough to eat. My milk hasn’t come in yet. And this is just one of those moments that no one prepares you for. So stay tough new moms.
@the.real.og, I did end up supplementing with formula last night to help and will continue until my milk comes in.
@mrschanandlerbong95, thanks I am trying my best. And since I just had him yesterday I’d like to give him a fair shot at breastfeeding. My oldest I only fed for two months via breastfeeding then switched to formula. I don’t have a problem with it but I’d like to give my kiddo a fair shot at it.
@gypsymomma, that is true, but the more he latches the better. It’ll help trigger the response to start producing.
But you don’t have to put so much pressure on yourself to breastfeed. Formula is a great option. I have two formula babies, and my twins will start on formula as well. Try to stay positive and hang in there!
@mrschanandlerbong95, I am trying. They said it could take a little longer due to him being about 2 weeks early and because of the c section.
You just had a major surgery, the last thing you need to worry about is housework. I’m sorry she’s being so horrible.
Your milk will come in soon, just keep trying.
@lana30319, yes my mil is terrible. I don’t really pay attention to her all that much. And the lactation consultant is out right now but will be back next week. So I will be back to see her. And my mom is one of those people that this is how she helps. Is by doing things that others themselves wouldn’t think to do. My mil doesn’t hardly clean her own stupid house so there is no way she would come to clean mine.
How awful of your MIL! You just had major surgery! Cleaning a house is the last damn thang that should be on your mind. Or did she want to clean your place? At least you know now the folks that really care about you are. Will come visit or shoot you a text. Not just for your new baby. It take a few days for that clear milk to turn into white milk. Contact the lactation person at the hospital or from your health company. From my experience it took 2 weeks before my pain went away. And only took the pain pills the first week.
@the.real.og, getting there. Slowly but surely it’s making its way. I think between the fact my kiddo was about 2 weeks early and all the stress and what not was making it hard to relax so I could efficiently pump for now until baby boy is jaundice free.
