:: This acne has got me actually depressed. I’ve broken down crying so many times to my husband. I can’t look in the mirror hardly. I don’t leave the house. I don’t know what I’m going to do. The Amoxicillin and clindamycin doesn’t seem to be helping me. My chin and jawline are covered and it’s painful. Guess I’m back to get more injections in my face. 😞 I gotta figure it out because I can’t be lookin like Shrek for my both my brothers’ weddings. 😭 If anyone has some secret voodoo stuff that’s safe during pregnancy, let ya girl know. Hydrafacial in a few weeks should help some.
@mom2squared, I’m sure if you bought off amazon it would be okay but not eBay and random people lol. I bought it at the hair store that’s the only place I came across it (I’m from Canada) but have heard you can get it at health food stores, even Walmart in the USA.
@mom2squared, yes the retinol tonic is safe and I read a ton of reviews before purchasing it because I know retinol can be drying but the moisturizing from the jasmine makes up for it and I actual have dry skin and have had no issues at all. I saw tons of concerning reviews on the Aztec Indian healing clay masks too but then I also read that a lot of people were buying online from untreated sources and it was actual a copy from China with God knows what in it. I’ve had no issues at all with it at all but your right you’ve got nothing to loose so it’s worth a try.
@amyrachellem, yes I know there’s little to be done until I have the baby. And I’d do it all again to have this baby. It just sucks.
@mimixtmn, the pixi retinol tonic is safe? I’ve been so nervous about what I put on my face. I’ve wanted to try the Aztec Indian clay masks but I saw a lot of bad reviews and it scared me off! At this point, what do I have to lose though? I may try it.
I was using diluted ACV as a toner and it had helped some but I got Pregnant and all hell broke loose on my face.
@tiredmama0917, yeah I heard about all that. Which is why I hadn’t wanted to try it. But my skin was under control for several years by the time I got pregnant with my son. When I was 20 I was put on an oral med (can’t remember the name), and then two topicals benzoclin, and tazorac. That and birth control seemed to hold me over until I got pregnant with my son at 28.
Just remember your body is doing an amazing thing right now!! And don't under-estimate the power of photoshop and filters! But I totally understand!! I hope you do find some relief though! If possible maybe there's a hormone balancer you could take. Your estrogen and progesterone levels are to blame right now!
Ok I don’t have super bad acne or anything I rarely would get any pimples but since being pregnant this time around my face has been breaking out and I’ve even been getting some huge cystic like bumps. I wash my face daily with Clarisonic and have for awhile and just toned and used moisturizer. Since this acne tho I switched my toner from pixi glow tonic to pixi retinol tonic and within days I noticed a huge difference and my skin is glowing. I also use Aztec Indian healing clay mask with apple cider vinegar that literally sucks the life out of your pores and pimples. I also out of desperation one day tried putting polysporin complete (the one with pain relief and antibiotics) on the bumps and it literally made the smaller ones disappear overnight and the bigger ones shrink incredibly and loose the red irritated look overnight.
@mom2squared, honestly it changed my life. I was on it for a while but it seriously made such a difference for me it was amazing. Mind you this was after I had been on every single cream, pill, birth control, medicated face wash, Proactiv, etc. I tried everything for years. Accutane was the only thing that helped me. It is no joke though, the stuff is super strong and you cannot be pregnant and they make you prove what birth controls that you are using and all of that. It was 100% worth it for me.
@isabellesmom93, I haven’t! What kind of finish is it? I need a matte finish.
@mom2squared, have you ever used stick foundation? I have one by hourglass and I love it
@isabellesmom93, thank you! 🙌🏼 I may have to hit Sephora next week and try it out. I used to use Tarte liquid foundation, but my skin hates liquid foundation. It always separates and makes my skin oily. So I gave Tarte up. I’m back to using Bare Minerals powder foundation. But it’s just not enough coverage for what I got going on. 😞
@mom2squared, no I’ve never used it but if they sell it in stores I would definitely give it a try! Have them try it on you and show you how to put it on and I’m sure you’ll look amazing😊
@tiredmama0917, I’m wondering if it’s gonna be time to try accutane after this. I’ve really been trying to avoid it because it’s so STRONG. And I am hoping to breastfeed. But I wasn’t able to BF my son, so if I’m not able to BF this one either, then I may just look into it.
@mom2squared mine started young too. Some of the medicine they precribed me was expensive also and I couldnt get it.. But I do honestly know what your going through seems like nothing clears it up. It sucks.
I have had the same problem. Mine got worse when I was pregnant too. It’s depressing truly and people just think you don’t wash your face. I actually went on accutane a few years ago and it made such a dramatic difference, I no longer cake in makeup to cover up my entire face. I also use body shop tea tree cleaners and they are amazing. My face has never been clearer in my life. I hope you find something that works for you.
@isabellesmom93, girl I’m praying that happens for me! My first brother’s wedding is 10/6 and I’ll be 17 weeks. Then my other brother’s wedding is 10/26 and I’ll be 20 weeks. I’ve been looking at buying Dermacal full coverage. I’ve watched a couple beautubers review it and it looks amazing. Have you heard of it?
@shannanbobby2013, I’ve dealt with acne like this since I was 14. But in my 20’s I finally saw a dermatologist and got it under control for the most part. When I got pregnant with my son I had breakouts the whole time but it was just one or two at a time. This pregnancy my whole jawline and chin are covered and it reminds me of how bad it was in high school. It’s just awful. I’m 30. I shouldn’t be dealing with acne like this. This started before I even got pregnant though. Something happened over Mother’s Day and I must’ve picked up a bacterial infection from a new product. It’s clindamycin gel. I don’t have typical insurance. I’m in a medshare club. So they don’t cover meds unless it’s over $500. So I couldn’t pick up what I was originally prescribed, Finacea, because they wanted $375.
I have the same problem when I become pregnant till about 20 weeks then it seems like the hormones level out and it goes away slowly, until then if I had a special event to go to where I would wear makeup I highly recommend tart shape tape concealer it can cover up anything🙌🏼
I have been on antibiotics since 2015 with my face. I know exactly what you are going through, its painful, its embarrassing, makea you feel just plain nasty but its not our fault.. Did they give you come clindamycin cream to put on your face too?! It helps a lol bit but not clear it up. It bothers me so bad, I have cried days and nights because of it.. I honestly thought I was the only one that had this problem. If you wabt you are more than welcome to message me and we can chat about it if you would like. Hang in there momma!!💕
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.

I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
@mimixtmn, oh I’ll just get it on Amazon. I assumed you meant not to buy it at places like amazon. lol.
