You can call the hospital your going to and ask all the questions you have.

My daughter was born at 35 weeks. It definitely depends on the hospital. I was only allowed to see her when she became stable. After that I was allowed to come and sit by her any time I wanted. Their protocol was only 2 visitors per baby, you had to have a bracelet to get in. My husband unfortunately was not allowed to see her because he wasn't around for her birth so my mother got the 2nd bracelet. When he finally got home they wouldn't allow him in without the bracelet, my mom cut hers off to give to him but they still wouldn't let him in which was seriously BS.

Honestly, I don’t know. Mine was a result of domestic abuse. I was high risk though before it got ugly. Try not to stress.

No ma’am. 🙌🏻 We did stay in the hospital for a week though. Which was completely okay. I ate all the Panera I wanted 😅

@erikanbethune2 where he was early they wanted to be safe and watch over him a little long then they normally would before discharging him. Plus test on his lungs which came back fine but they gave him steroid booster shot to be safe.

Yep the father or other family members can. And because you still have to keep relatively flat. The incision needs to start to heal. My hospital has a super small NICU but one little area has room for bed. They rolled a mama in there for an hour post OP to be with her little. Her partner stayed longer. I happened to be in the NICU seeing/feeding my baby at the time. Our two hospitals NICU are small. Lots of little spots with lots of equipment. I spent alot of time in a small chair feeding my daughter. But they do their best to keep mom and baby as close together as possible. I was granted an extended few days stay to care for my daughter while she was in.

Same, my son was 36wks and we stayed a few extra days because he was slightly jaundice.. But no NICU time

That's something you should definitely ask about, and is different at every hospital. My hospital only has a NICU for baby's I think 35wks and up, and can treat most things but not all. If he had any other type of problem they will transfer him to the nearest hospital, and release me as soon as possible too. But it is all case specific and depends on what your hospital provides. Like if there was a high chance my baby would have been born early, I definitely would have choose this other hospital that has a 5 star NICU equipped for way more. The hospital I have now does not have a nursery at all, baby rooms in with you at all times. Or they can treat minor things in very small NICU.

For the NICU. It depends on how you and baby are doing. If baby is doing ok they can stay for a little bit. If they go to NICU you can see them as soon as your catheter is removed. You have to go to NICU so you have to be mobile. So doctors/hospitals will let you go with baby for a little while in NICU while still stuck in bed but it depends. Usually if they let you do it it's for an hour at the most and then you have to go until your mobile.

@erikanbethune2 yeah it was terrible I was a wreak. But if your hospital has a nicu then I'm sure you'll be able to go and see them. I seen a lot of women being wheeled up there to see the babies

I was able to see my babies for a second until they has to go to the nursery because Kai was needing cpr. But then the hospital I was at didn't have a nicu so they were transferred and I seen then for a minute while I was signing papers and not again for 4 days when I got out the hospital

I had my son 35 weeks, emergency C, he’s not left my sight since 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think it just depends on hospital protocol and the individuals involved. Best of luck ❤️
