Well I’m bawling my eyes out right now.
It’s he second day of school and I just got a voicemail saying my sweet boy got written up for “verbally assaulting” another student. He’s in kindergarden. I’m not saying he’s perfect but he’s never EVER the problem child. My heart is broken and I just wanna go pick him up: I can’t understand what he could possibly have said. And the principal who called me is now in meetings and can’t have a conversation with me right now.
Renzo is the kid who cry’s when someone doesn’t want to play with him. Last year he was bullied on the bus and told the bus driver he didn’t mind because he liked seeing the other kids laugh and be happy😭

Maybe he got verbally abusive with another kid because he was standing up for himself. Just ask him when he comes home to get the whole story.

I’d definitely try to go to the school if you can and just check on him hun. Jus put u at ease!

Other kids’ attitudes will effect your kiddo. Maybe he heard some other kids not saying something very nice and thought it was okay to say it when he got frustrated.

He should be home in about 40 min so hopefully he will be able to relay the situation to me. I also hope the disciplinary slip has a decent retelling of what happened and not a generic description.
I know they won’t name the other children involved or let me know if anyone else got punished as well.
I don’t know what would be worse:
If he didn’t really do anything that bad and the school is over reacting or if he really did say something hurtful. That would break my heart.
Nervous to find out.

So he got sent to the office and reported to the counselor. He’s FIVE.
🙄 - I put him in timeout since he got a red card for it but in all seriousness it could have been a lot worse.

@knockout, omg that’s ridiculous. I’d be so annoyed if my kid got in that much trouble for something so small. Good grief. 🙄

@knockout, ohhhh I see. Aww, he was playing. Looks like the school has no tolerance for that probably because of all the stuff that’s happened in schools. Granted, he’s 5, so those are some strict counselors. Ahhh this world 🤦🏻♀️

Yes I’m very annoyed but I didn’t want him to think he doesn’t have to respect his teacher/principal so when he got home we had a talk about not making fake guns and not fake hurting people and then he got a timeout.
But it’s hard to be mad at him when they were just playing.
I don’t even allow him to have toy guns at home so I’m not sure why he even made a lego gun but it’s still a silly situation.
