I’ve been hearing something about babies getting flat heads? What causes that?
@aileen_west, @marielovely, @babymay2016, @amysbabies, thanks for the info ladies, this is obviously my first baby lol I’m going to have to get a wrap or a carrier now lol
I feel like some babies are more predisposed to getting a flat head, but most aren’t. Just hold baby and wear baby and do tummy time. It’s usually caused when babies are left flat in their crib— then moved to their swing, then to their rocker, always flat on their head. Again though, I think some are just going to get it. I really recommend wearing baby in a wrap or carrier. It’s a lot easier, they are more comforted, and you don’t have much to worry about a flat head—— again though, this doesn’t mean it can’t happen, so if ever concerned, just pay the doctor a visit 🤗
My sons head did not flatten but he did have a bald spot on the back for a looooong while. He would always turn back and wouldn't hold his head up for tummy time, too much time laying flat on his back.
Also can be how baby is positioned in the womb. My first was in transverse for the longest time. He needed a helmet.
