First off don't worry yourself too much bc all kids are different. I have 2 children ages 12.5yrs old and my daughter is 22 months... My son was talking by 2, but he wasn't clear... He became more clear between 2.5-3... Now my daughter Nalanie is a different story- at 9 months (clearly) she was saying "say cheese", mom, papi, and many other words... Shes been categorized as being ahead... I love by 11 months she was saying clearly over 75 words... Now at 22 months she speaks full sentences and we can communicate just fine (she'll be 2 Oct 2)... Now- my cousin her daughter the saying some words but not clearly- pediatrician said not worry to give it a little bit of time but they could have her evaluated buy a speech therapist... I'm a teacher I work in Early Education- the first two things that they would do is check his hearing and then have him seen by a speech therapist.. normally within about 6 months you can see a whole different child after seeing a speech therapist... But again do keep in mind all kids are different, and it has been proven that boys are a bit lazier when it comes to speech... If you felt concerned you could always tell your pediatrician she could take a look at him and then have him evaluated with the speech therapist and then take it from there... 😉

My son is about to be 2.5 and he’s now in early intervention and getting evaluated for speech therapy tomorrow. He mostly makes up his own words. Maybe ask your pediatrician for a speech therapy referral

No, her pediatrician referred her to early intervention the first time...but they didnt take her in because they said she was just too little and too lazy. The second time around she was referred to an actual speech therapist. Luckily they noticed she needed help and took her right in.
Just let his doctor know about your concerns next time you take him for an appointment.
And if he got Medicaid Medicaid will pay for all that n whatever help he needs

@kennyshakur no dont worry love plus from what was told to me boys r more lazy than girls they take longer to talk cuz they boss like that. Dont worry about it just work with him n he will b just fine love

No..She will be 3 yrs old in November and currently going to speech therapy.
We did an early evaluation before she turned 2 and was told she was just lazy...thankfully she was evaluated for a 2nd time and she is now getting the need she needs. It has only been 1 month (8 classes) so far so good
@laillij, thankyou so much 😩 he says very few words clearly and the rest of the time I know what he’s trying to say but it’s hardly ever clear .. plus he was born two months early so I’ve really been worried but yes you’re right all kids are different
No girl my so. Just turned 2 in july he is 25 percent delayed according to teacher i have for him she said as long as he mimics is ok they shouldnt b saying sentences tho like maybe 2 words together n plus all kids r different . just narrorate ur whole day with him is gonna take time but dont worry about it tho ma i was worried at first but every kid is different as long as he say some words atleast 10 or 15 just work with him dont let noone tell u different
Him being premature can have a lot of to do with it. My daughter was also born 2 months early but just now started speaking in complete sentences and we still have a long way to go
