Okay guys I need some advise on how to handle this situation....my MIL came to my house today and told me she is going to be in the room when this baby is born...I told her once before she wasn’t...and she’s now mad at me because she has seen all her grandkids births besides my son and will be this one too...she blew up on me because she knew my mom will be in the room and my husband slipped that my mom also will be cutting the cord...I’m the one that asked...my mom missed meeting my first son and his birth because she was in England so I really wanted her involved with this one...so yeah I don’t know how to handle my MIL right now 😂
Your mom gave you life. Your mom raised you. You have a special bond with your mom. Me, personally, wanted my MIL in the room for this birth but can't because I'm having a c-section- but that's because we are close. But not everyone feels that way & I don't blame them.
This is very vulnerable state you'll be in. Not to mention the things that can be witnessed during birth isn't always the prettiest. No one should be forced to have an audience. Period.
im in the same situation in a way, i already have my mom and my SO that are gonna be in the room and i told my SO that i didnt feel comfortable having his mother in the room and he got angry with me and said "well this is my baby too" not sure if his mother knows i dont want her in the room yet but i can only imagine how shes gonna react
I’m going through the exact same thing with my MIL, it got so bad that she keeps insinuating that I’m trying to keep my baby away from her.
Then I explained to my SO that I didn’t want any visitors in the hospital, unless it’s the father or my mother and she took offense to that as well saying I’m being selfish and withholding her grandchild, smh I have to keep compromising in order to keep peace in my mind and home
Say a prayer for her you don't need any stress during delivery trust me so I will be going to be stressful enough as you know
@newlyironman, yeah...she has made our lives a living hell when it comes to my son because I won’t let her have him ever because she always has a beer that’s why she randomly shows up to my house
@121909pss, she’s an alcoholic I don’t even want her in my kids lives because of how she is and how she will show up drunk I have no relationship with her and either does my husband...there is a background to it and I’ve told my husband I wish my kids had a better grandma and he even agreed
@paigerue2013 see that's important information to have
@newlyironman, she’s an alcoholic I don’t want her there period or near my kid 😂
Just tell her your sorry but you need your mom. She should understand considering your the one giving birth my mom was there with me except my last was a c section so only hubs. She will get passed it.
So, just a thought... one day you're going to be the mil. And your dil is going to tell you that her mother will be in the room and cutting the cord but you're not invited. You're going to feel heart broken. Maybe tel her she can be at the hospital and come in after
I understand that's your mother and you want her in the room my mother was in the room when I had my son but that's also his mother so she's just as big as part of this is your mother I don't understand why you don't want her in the room and it's not my place to suggest but maybe if you thought about it you might have a different Outlook why she wants to be in the room she may be feeling my son is having a baby just like your mother is feeling my daughter is having a baby
@jessig2006, exactly! I can’t handle other people and my mom already said she is standing by my head she isn’t staring down at that 😂 she’s even a OB nurse 😂😂😂😂
Just tell her sorry but I need my mom there with me and that’s that. It’s nothing against her but that’s your choice. If she gets angry with you then just be rude back and say fine you can wait till we get home to see baby.
Just stand your ground! I know my mom wanted to be in the room everytime I gave birth, I told her no, and let her throw her little bitch fit, so she could see it got her ass nowhere! My mil didn't give a shit thank God. But I would have handled her the same way.
@tacos4lyfe, yassss! Perfect response 😂
Shes just wants to be involved and maybe being extremely selfish aswell. Your doing the right thing by giving your mom the opportunity to be apart of this beautiful experience. Hold your ground and stand up to what you want and dont let her stress you out congrats tou you and your growing family❤
You have every right to not want her there. Having your own mom is different and they should not be compared. Be polite and tell her that you do not feel comfortable with her there. Let her know that she will be the 1st one to see baby when you are ready. Most hospitals only allow 2 people, so check if this is the case where you plan to deliver. Good luck. Stay strong.
I told the nurses and they told everyone they needed to go out. They needed to check me. Then next thing she was here
I would just tell her you're really not comfortable with the situation. Your mom being in the room is completely different. Your mother gave birth to you and raised you. She wasn't wiping your little tiny baby butt. I am the same way but my MIL has never asked and I explained my husband that the thought of his mom having a front row seat to my vagina would mean I could never look her in the face again. I am fine with my mom, she's seen it before, my hubby because he's obviously seen it before and medical professionals because that's their job. But other people make me uncomfortable. I'd never be able to look my father in the eyes if he saw me give birth either. It's just different.
She crazy. MILs are not the same as moms. Tell her she can be in the room when your husband decides to give birth.
Its your choice and inform the front desk ahead of time .. it's all about what makes you comfortable
Will your Mom be in the delivery room?
My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
My mil wants me to call her to talk about my birthing plan because she doesn’t agree with it...what do I even say without being rude. I’m heated.
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
Tell me if I'm wrong ladies, but my MIL is being a pouty person because my husband and I agreed we dont want her in the delivery room. It will only be my mom and him. I'm very close to my mom and she was there for my first child. I'm not very close to my MIL, and she's making my husband feel like crap because she wants to be in the room or else she's not coming to the hospital at all. that hurt him and it frustrates me. I'm sorry, I just dont feel comfortable with my va jay jay all out in t...

9:35 this morning my little peanut Averie Skye made her appearance in the word ON HER ACTUAL DUE DATE in the CRAZIEST WAY: long story short i got an epidural and they were going to check me at 12 this afternoon to see if i was induced enough then around 930 in the morning my mom was in the room with me and i was like mom i swear i just heard the baby cry.. she’s like hahaha i heard that too i guess it was the tv. then i told my nurse she laughed at me. then she went to change my position in the ...
