Does any one else’s first graders have an issue with the time they are given to eat? I’m getting upset now everyday my child comes home and says she didn’t have enough time to eat snack or eat lunch. Idk if it’s her talking and playing and not eating or if they just really don’t give them enough time to eat🤷🏽♀️
Any other pregnant women having a hard time eating enough?

Make your own breakfast! At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.

Well.... I had lunch with my first grader when she was in kindergarten a few times and it is a real short period of time and doesn't help when they're sitting there talking 😩

It’s a very short period of time to eat. If your kid is a slow eater, along with other distractions, that’s not enough time. I’m a very slow eater as well as my daughter. I had to sit with her for the first week of her first year of school to encourage her to eat fast, and not talk until after she’s done eating. She’s in second grade now and sometimes she comes home with all her lunch and claims she didn’t have enough time.

It's not a lot of time. They tend to do better with a packed lunch.

It's not alot of time at our school but I packed snacks and he eats on recess

They really do not get a lot of time. I think my kids gets 20mins. But they just have to learn to eat fast, I hate it but that's how it is. Also my sons snack time is during recess so he rarely eats it because he wants to play.
