Help!!!
I have PCOS, I’ve been spotting off and on since June. I haven’t had a cycle since April. Today I went to my women’s check up and the Doc stated it was time for me to take birth control to regulate my period and hormones. I am soooooooo against BC but I am to a breaking point. I want another child...
I feel lost. Anyone, please share your thoughts and experience please.

I refused to take birth control! There’s something they can give you that basically makes your period come. My doctor gave it to me one time. And I hadn’t had a problem. I did work really hard on my weight though to conceive my daughter.

@lucylu2 yes, a Paleo diet is really the only thing that worked for me. Lots of spinach
@cdquint02, I think it’s time to start eating right
@cdquint02, I don’t have deep voice but yes I am heavier set even with eating right and what not I do lose weight but not much. Wish I had more hairs on my eyebrow than my chin lol
I'm so glad I only have to pap every 3 yrs now! That's so awful!!
@lucylu2 deeper voice, heavier set, dark chin/facial hairs? Or just cysts and a ammenoria
@cdquint02, the doc today just did my pap and omg it was sooo painful. Ugh I hate that I didn’t go to my reg ob.
That being said, my cycles are entirely dependent on my diet. Which makes sense since hormones need the right balance of sugars to regulate. A Paleo diet helped me conceive my daughter and I was regular after I was done nursing her to conceive my son.
@cdquint02, the specialist told me I had PCOS based off my ultrasound and everything else. Blood work always comes back fine.
@lucylu2 I think doctors (lazy ones) use PCOS as a catch all diagnosis in order to pop us on meds. Rather than look at cysts as a symptom and not automatically the syndrome. Obviously there are a ton of symptoms and other diagnosis tools (which I did not show) and I'm not say PCOS isn't a real thing but I think it is over diagnosed.
@lucylu2 did they do the blood work or the ultrasound? Where I'm coming from, I was on BC for 5 yrs, came off and didn't have cycles for over a year. Went to the doc and they did a scan, said it was PCOS bc of cysts they saw. But bloodwork did not support that. And I conceived both my kids naturally.
@cdquint02, I was diagnosed in 2016 however it was never taken care of because I was going through infertility treatments to try to get pregnant. Up until last year when I stop working I stopped the treatments and never followed up.
How when was your PCOS diagnosed? As someone who was mis-diagnosed with it, I struggle to follow the BC route as well!
