Ladies in your experience what do waters smell/look like?
@clarelushx yeah I can't argue. Although it's happened on 3 separate occasions now.....but there's nothing I can do xxx
@pearce5443 that's crazy. That coughing thing is rubbish - I could cough without anything coming out, I could do everything without a drop, it just came out spontaneously every other day. All depends on where the sac has ruptured and how badly. Suppose they know best though xx
@em90 also no mention as to whether my "show" was still intact as on Friday they said it was. And she didn't say this time. Xxx
@clarelushx i went triage and she didn't even bother to swab me. Just had a look and said she doesn't think it's my waters cause nothing shoots out when I cough. Xxx
@em90 Well this mw just said my cervix slightly open. Which apparently is to be expected when you've already had a baby. So i said well when I was checked Friday it was long and closed so surely that means from then and now it's opened a little......she didn't say anything and doesn't seem concerned she did however say that when I coughed that she couldn't see waters "shooting out". So i don't know. Had quite a bad load of contractions this morning which then stopped as quickly as they started. I don't trust my body anymore lol....I had none of this with my first xxx
@clarelushx yeah, would put my mind at rest. They're going to get fed up with me up there 😂 xx
@pearce5443 I'd suggest doing that hun. It's not worth the risks. Whether it is or isn't at least you'll get an answer so your not constantly wondering and stressing over it xx
@clarelushx 😖 I will phone triage in the morning. Better to be safe than sorry xx
I couldn't distinguish the difference between my waters trickling or losing a bit of control over my bladder. The tell-tale signs didn't occur with me. I could cough, squat, I could go hours without losing anything, pad wasn't exactly soaked ect. Because I could do all that I assumed it wasn't my waters. It was. Only way to be sure is to get it swabbed. If u leave it too long it could cause infection xx
If you have punctured waters they slowly leak little by little it happened to peters auntie and she was brought in and then they completely went when she was 36 weeks so I’d just be cautious considering my love xxx
@erincharliebubba Oh ok, I will bear that in mine as well xxx
@pearce5443, also it is common to have a more watery discharge the further we get, when I’m walking I feel like I’m leaking but sometimes there’s nothing there lol xxx
@em90 right ok. I will just keep an eye on it then. Thank you xx
From my personal experience yes. Mine went in the morning and was a gush, stop for a bit then a few hours later would gush again.
@erincharliebubba ok thanks babes will do xxx
@pearce5443, keep a pad on through the night hun see how it is in the morning xxx
@erincharliebubba I've had a lay down for a little while and not leaked anymore.....🤷♀️ who knows. @em90 @kronaghmc99 xxx
@pearce5443, that’s good news hope all is well!xxx
@erincharliebubba thank you! I've just got home so going to do that now. But haven't leaked any more whilst out so fingers crossed xxx
@pearce5443, hope
Your okay hun! With my 1st they slowly trickled out, if you push or cough does more come out? Mine where clear and had a different smell not like normal discharge. Pop a pad on when home and your triage unit can do a swab to see if it’s your waters or not xxx
@rachaellw @amyecmt thanks ladies.xx
Iv never seen my waters tbh but in my last pregnancy it felt like I needed a wee anyway stood up and yeah gushhh 🙈😂 luckily I was already at hospital lol xx
I didn’t smell mine or even see them. They pop while in labour, they liturally popped! It made me jump, I remember freaking out asking if they had poo in them because my first had pooed in his. So they must have been clear x
@em90 ok will do that. @kronaghmc99 Yeah I will give them a call when I get home xxx
You could of punctured your waters and they are slowly coming, ring your midwife and ask their advice and see what they say xxx
That's ok. Don't worry about tmi. I'd put a pad on and sit/lie down for a while like 30 mins and if it's wet, it's likely your waters. Once your waters have gone they'll keep coming till baby arrives, They can be just a trickle or a gush. If you are worried hun ring up and they may get you in to check you.
@em90 well I'm not 100%. Sorry for tmi but earlier it was just what I would class like a normal discharge since being pregnant (soz I feel gross saying that) but now my underwear is visibly damp and I can smell a smell I've not smelt before. I don't know how to describe the smell though. But I haven't had a gush and it's not like I'm soaked through.....so I don't know. I'm very much a worrier, what with everything I've had going on recently xx
If you think yours have gone I'd give your midwife a call. X
@em90 everyone seems to be different 🤷♀️ xx
Just looks like pure water. Smells abit like sperm I think xx
They are ment to smell really sweet and should be clear or slightly tinged yellow or pink x
Oh that's not very helpful then! I know how you feel in regards to trusting your body. With my 1st my waters went early hours of morning no signs or anything, never really had any 'real' contractions.
