Having some steak and pickles for dinner ☺️ still learning about the BLW and what to have for her haha need to go grocery shopping a little 😂😅😍🌹
@erikak, haha thanks! That’s a big help ☺️ and yea don’t need her choking!! That’s scary but a good thing I’ve had first aid courses ☺️ and thanks haha I love putting them up 😁
My dr said to give only steamed veggies (nothing raw) and nothing with seeds. I would definitely watch for choking, but I'm sure you're not a careless mom obviously! :) my friend's daughter tried to swallow something too big before and almost choked. No mom wants that, and she said she only looked away for a second. So it's definitely something to be careful with :) I enjoy all the cute pics of your baby girl eating 😊
@jessiebear21, don’t worry girl. A lot of Mom thinks all babies are like theirs. My son is a bit advanced and was ready at 4 months (even confirmed by nurses) but I just decided to wait till 5.5 months anyway for my own sanity haha.
@avianlouiebos, I remember you feeding him pancakes and giving him solids instead of purees based on your other posts, and you mentioned you can start feeding your babies anything. How’s he doing now ? Is he able to manage ?
@avianlouiebos, well what have you tried? And at first I read that they don’t really eat much from it, it’s just kinda them tasting and feeling and stuff.
@jessiebear21 he has super strong gums too but he cant
@avianlouiebos, nope she has no teeth ☺️ but there gums are super strong so they are able to do that kinda stuff
@avianlouiebos, yea it’s kind of a confusing thing. Um I guess just kinda look it up. You could also do things your not worried about him choking on like softer fruits and stuff maybe I’m not really sure I just followed a bunch of Facebook groups.
I honestly never understood BLW like he cant even have baby rusks without choking and those melt when in contact with your mouth
@jack.ass, ok thanks with the pickles lol I wasn’t to sure so awesome! ☺️ and I know you kind be showing signs of six months early I’m not stupid.. I just mean she was showing signs of readiness now and yes I have been. Because I got told it was perfectly fine to
@jessiebear21, you can’t show the sign of being 6 months early. However, I think I remember you as having already been feeding your child solids for quite some time regardless.
I would hold off on acidic foods. Until you see how BLW affects her belly.
Hi! I just wanted everyone to know that yes I realized she is 5 months but her 6 months is on the 26th so a week. I started early because she showed all signs of readiness and my and my SO thought is was best and since it’s our daughter we did it. We watch her very carefully so she doesn’t get hurt. I’m just a new mom I get this but I do look shit up and read information so I know some things, and I am thankful for other stuff but when you get angry at the person it really makes me feel like I’m not good enough and that I’m doing everything wrong.. I have very bad anxiety about that anyways don’t need more of it thanks. my daughter is safe, she is happy, she is loved, and she is healthy! I say lol because that’s just what I say! I’m not actually laughing off my daughters safety because like WTF who would do that. I love my daughter so much I would die to protect her. So yes I’m still learning and I know BLW is 6 months but I felt as her mother that she was ready and like I said she is a week shy of 6 months
@jack.ass, ok so no pickles?? I just wasn’t sure about that one I just seen it on a list of stuff to give. And also she is a week shy of 6 months it’s on the 26th and she does have all signs of readiness
@carusod91, pretty much she didn’t even eat any of it LOL
@beakymcspence, I don’t do BLW personally but I think you just need to relax a little. Soooo many people push BLW, even professionals, so that’s probably where that came from. You can share advice without coming across as snarky or “angry”. No one is laughing about safety. You took that too seriously. And I’m positive she’s watching out for her kid.
Pretty sure BLW says MINIMUM of 6 months AND all signs of readiness. Although the food is optioned correctly, baby is too young. And acidic foods are something you should hold off a bit for.
@carusod91, It’s a public forum if you don’t like the opinion why should I relax? Gnawing on a huge hunk of steak is still unsafe at 5 months regardless whether tasting or eating. Guess we should all just relax on safety it’s not important right? All your reading is the comment regarding “LOL” not the actual educated information. Even said I wasn’t being negative or hard on her, but your just upset because I made mention of making it a joke or something to laugh off. It’s also not for taste she clearly states this is “dinner”, tasting and feeding are completely different. If I was a new mom I sure wouldn’t think it was funny if someone pointed out a concern with safety I would genuinely consider the information. She states she’s learning, and part of that is learning risks and adjusting what your doing. I have three kids who have all had to learn solid foods, and till you’ve seen a child choke you don’t realize how fast it happens. Also the health risks to a new gut.
@beakymcspence, damn, I think you need to relax a little. I don’t think she was literally “LOLing”. I’m sure she also knows her daughter won’t be able eat those steaks, but just rather gnawing on it for taste.
@jessiebear21, Safety is not “lol”. BLW is a theory not a scientifically or medically proven food guideline for 5 month old infants. I’m sorry but that’s a poor answer for the safety concern. I’m not trying to be hard on you but as a nurse I will for safety. Your daughters 5 months old , and she doesn’t have the ability to eat those huge strips of steak safely. If you intend on feeding her meat go out and buy a baby bullet and make it safe. At 5 months the acid and sodium in a pickle on a new gut is also a bit early. Just because BLW said it was cool doesn’t mean in reality you should be giving her that just like you posting her having a pillow in the bed just because you think she’s ok doesn’t mean it’s safe. Sure BLW is great but parent led safety should be more important. I would strongly suggest you speaking to your paediatrician for a guideline of safe foods to try at 5 months, because none that I’ve dealt with would suggest the above dinner in that form. Good luck
@beakymcspence, lol I thought so to but it’s apart of the BLW she is able to they can have pretty much everything
Isn’t she a bit young for big hunks of steak....not trying to be negative 🤷♀️ Not safe.
@brynsmommie, nice!! She didn’t really eat it but she did love it haha
My kids have always loved pickles too!!! They both had one for snack tonight actually lol
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
