Omg I got offered 2 different jobs!! 😁 but now I'm not sure which to accept! Help

Job 1: starts Monday 8/20. 13/hr. 15min away from my house. A vet clinic(I'm worked at one before so I know what I'm doing there) But 30-40hr and no medical benefits. 7am to about 7pm.

Job 2: start Monday 8/27. 14.5/hr. 30min away. A call center. Will be trained. Great medical benefits. Can even take out advance on my paycheck if needed. 40 hours working 8-6 monday-thursday and Saturday 8-1. And bonuses! Office environment so might be boring

in germany your children are automatically covered and there is never any question about if or if not and how much... it's always the same %... but since you know what you get brutto, you should check what it's gonna be netto... do for 2000€ brutto you get maybe 1500€ net to, so that's a big loss

@emily526 there are 3 different benefits that was just an example. She explained what all of them had but I was focused on something else. She emailed me all of it. But I do need health benefits for my family and they cover 85% of the benefits from what she told me

@muksu That's the same system... the % varies and so do the copays. The company doesn't always pay a larger % up front and if someone doesn't have the extra money to give from their paycheck it may make things more difficult. The OP stated she didn't know much about the plan offered. It's really silly to accept a job for the benefits like a lot of people were advising to do when you don't even know the exact plan being offered.

@muksu it's the same here. But if you need a check up you pay like 30 dollars or less. You're supposed to have insurance here but you don't have to accept it from your job.

@emily526 really you have an odd system... we have to pay a certain percentage from our paycheck and the company pays a bigger percentage... and you will have to have an insurance... (that counts for Germany)

@motherof3nigerianprincesses I know, that's why I mentioned it. Depending on your out of pocket costs you might save money not having workplace medical and just getting a plan through the exchange.

@emily526 there's always a copay until you reach your deductible. Any job I've had you pay some of it out of your pocket each pay check

I would ask more questions about the benefits honestly. It's awesome to get medical benefits, but there is such a thing as a bad medical plan. Are the benefits "free" or do they subtract from your pay for them? What exactly do they cover? Are there copays, etc?

@muksu not only if you're sick but if you need a check up or anything. If a company is too small then they don't have to provide benefits

@motherof3nigerianprincesses oh ok... then job 2 would be fine :)

And medical benefits are those you get for when you are sick right? they are a must here... hope they become a must there soon

She said that there are 3 different medical benefits options. And they do something to where they eventually pay like 85% of something..I was half listening

@tasticmel @owenjacesmama @muksu it's a medical call center inbound and outbound calls. And no benefits at the vet clinic is too small to not have benefits. Both are me dealing with phone calls

i have tried call center and never again... depends what type of call center... I had to sell stuff on phone... not great at all... if you like phone stuff go on ahead... but it might not be easy...

why do you not get medical benefits???

You can always try job 1 & if you don't like it show up to job 2 😂 but I think any job w benefits is better than not
