Good luck. If your reading this before your surgery know that the tugging is only to shift the baby out and shouldn't hurt at all. Both my kiddies were jammed in there and needed to be wiggled loose. Which keeps them looking beautiful after the birth 😊
If you've had yours I hope you have a safe recovery. Make everyone do whatever you can. Don't try and do everything on your own. Make people get you the baby and put the baby back. It will seem silly but the pain after attempting this solo sucks! Do go to the bathroom before it's an emergency once you get the all clear. Go early and often which helps because it's harder to walk and take the stool softeners.
@dandilioncalalilly, my hospital did not offer this, and because my section was unplanned, I did not have my own belly band purchased. I just pressed a pillow against my belly to hold things together when I needed to move, laugh, cough, etc. My arms were so sore from pulling myself out of the hospital bed. It’s kind of crazy how much we use our abdominal muscles for.
@dandilioncalalilly, my OB and the other one performing the surgery talked to me the whole time, I think to distract me from being scared. You will feel the tugging, but it shouldn’t hurt. If it does, that means the spinal might be wearing off, so be sure to speak up and let the anesthesiologist know right away. I felt stinging, burning pain midway through mine, and it was my epidural wearing off, so he increased the dose. (I had an epidural, not spinal because I was in labor and pushing prior to the C-section.)
